That´s awesome!! :)

Thank you!

First we were planning on having the wedding at his family´s cottage by Silver lake (close to Muskegon and lake Michigan it´s really beautiful out there) but there´s so little time to plan for a wedding and I like to be able to file for AOS as soon as possible so now we plan to just go to the court house as soon as possible and just have a barbecue at our house afterwards for closest friends and family. We´re planning on having a bigger wedding next summer or a wedding in Sweden later on.

Where did you guys meet? When are you planning on sending the I-129F? :)

Yeah, I see the dilemma. Sounds like you guys have found a good solution though. Do you know where/what you want to work with there?

We actually met through our professional careers, at a conference in Kyoto three years ago. It's been a long journey and many-many flights getting where we are now, but I'm very happy. I can't move until next summer/early fall, so we're planning on sending the petition late fall this year. As it seems the processing times are fast right now. Will keep a keen eye out if it starts to slow down though...

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Yeah, fortunately the fashion brand that my current company distributes in Scandinavia is owened by a big corporation in Grand Rapids with lots of other brands so I will probably work there in product development. Do you have any plans for work?

That´s awesome! I met my fiancé 3 years ago too! But at a country/roots music festival just outside of Nashville :)

Oh, ok. But then you at least have a lot of time reserching before hand :)

So I'm working on my CV for future job applications in my new home country. I was reading online that in the US, a CV is only a page long.... :o Has anyone else started working on their CV and how did you get it down to only one page? It feels so weird to only write the job title and company worked for without mentioning any job responsibilities/tasks. Did you include a picture or not on the CV?

Yes it is quite different to apply for jobs here. I had a bit of a hard time adjusting to that as I was trying to apply for internships here two years ago. Here you do a 1 page CV (don't add a picture, they're not supposed to judge you by your looks but some still do). And then you would also include a cover letter where you mix in info about yourself as well as tell them how your previous job experience will be beneficial for the job you're applying to. Depending on where you are applying they might ask for a writing sample for example previous college essays you've written etc.

Stuck at NVC because they screwed up and gave us two wrong checklists. We're on day 37 of supervisor review, I think. Called them yesterday and we should hear something any day now. I feel just like you, I just wanna go home.... :)

NVC had a lot of technical issues for like two months so they are pretty backlogged right now. Hopefully they start speeding up again and stop loosing people's documents.

Holding my thumbs and crossing my fingers that you'll get an easy ride through NVC. :)

So in the US, they will focus more on the cover letter than the actual CV? I have all this work experience but should I really just write the job title and company name, is that how you did your CV now?
