I'm sure I will, I mean I'm making plans around leaving on 10th and stuff, my last day at my job is on the 7th. I could book them right away but for some reason I'm still hesitant. I just want to have the damn visa say at least issued! But it seems to be stuck on Administrative Processing.

I'm sure it will be issued very soon. :)

Done refreshing CEAC for the day. Hopefully better luck tomorrow. I'm slightly concerned it might take longer because I'm Latvian and applying in Sweden but who knows...

It only took them one business day after changing from NIV to issues. Tomorrow will be your day!!

So I was looking around for flight tickets and had 10k miles with american airlines still, just for the fun of it I decided to see if I could purchase a one way ticket to his hometown instead of D.c (About 3 hours south) by paying with miles only. Turns out they only want 30k miles for a one way ticket, and buying the extra 20k miles will only cost me $480! So I scored (put it on 24hr hold) a flight ticket on Thursday with POE of JFK straight to his hometown for under $500! So exciting :)

Fingers crossed, I am so ready to book my damn flight :D

And wow, that's a really good price for flights, especially this close to departure! Make sure there's enough time between the POE and your next flight in case it takes a while for the immigration people to process you.

Hi guys! POE was smooth. Landed at Dulles at 7PM yesterday and we were lucky to get in before the Lufthansa plane from Munich so immigration was empty, didn't even have to stand in line. The CBP officer started to ask me how long I would be here when I informed I was coming on a K1 visa and he said "Oh, you came to live here!" lol. After that he didn't say much. He saw I had done military training and asked if it was a requirement for all citizens in Sweden. Other than that he didn't say anything, took my fingerprints and photo and said welcome. Fiance greeted me with a balloon that looks like Olaf from Frozen <3

I'm so happy everything went smoothly for you Maria! Did you have to hand over your chest xray CD as well? And did you fill out the blue form that we get on the planes? Not sure if they are ESTA specific

Thank you both!!! :) I'm sure it's gonna fly by, I'm gonna be working until the very end so that will help too. I haven't seen Chris since the end of July last year so it's long overdue!

The blue customs forms are for everyone though Dulles now have kiosks so people who come on ESTA can use kiosks.

I have no idea why we were given a cd with our chest x-rays. Have never seen them mentioned before so I was quite surprised when I was handed one. Don't think anyone wants them as the only people who are able to interpret them are educated in how to interpret xrays. Plus it already says on the form that my lungs were clear. I did bring the cd in my checked bag just in case it for some reason is needed though I doubt it.

Congratulations on a smooth POE. You didn't even have to go to secondary screening?!

I've been choosing POE between Newark and Dulles, but have been leaning towards Newark since I've been going through there for the past year. Good to know Dulles is a breeze too.

Good luck in your new home. :)
