I've a probably really dumb question. When they said they need an original translation of my birth certificate, they gave me a shipping label for when I mail the missing document in, it has their address on it and the little square that says no stamp is needed and that recipient pays postage. But in the document that explains how to mail it, it says 'Please mail in the original documents with the provided shipment label. Please note that the envelope can only be sent as registered mail within Sweden.' I'm puzzled about the registered mail part, do I just glue/tape the shipping label on a regular envelope and put it in a mail collection box or do I have to do anything besides that?

Nope that's it!

Thanks! I did just that yesterday afternoon and I just refreshed the page and seems like they've received it already! So hopefully there's no further issues and my visa is finally ready next week! :D

Okay. I have scheduled my interview already, but NVC haven't sent my case to the embassy yet.. Well, they have 28 days until my interview, so I'm very hopeful! :)

Have you ever heard of it taking longer than a month?

You should be perfectly fine :) For me it only took 5 days (inkluding a weekend) for NVC to assign a case number until the embassy received.

Good luck on your interview! Mine is next week. Getting a little nervous but exitied. :)

I had mine yesterday, you'll be surprised by how extremely fast everything will be. I came 7.50, left 8.20 haha. And also make sure to have Personbevis 120 in English!! Good luck :)

Same here! Received this morning and my status changed from AP to ready and switched from immigrant to nonimmigrant visa.. Hoping for an issuance sooooon. Can't wait to see my fiancé :dancing:

Edit: 2 seconds after I wrote this post I went online to check again and it switched from Ready to AP so I'm guessing they are making the final checks before issuing my visa!! SO excited right now

On the ceac website it says mine was updated today but still says Administrative Processing... bah now I'm all worried. I just want to book my damn tickets and get a headstart on packing and stuff!

Are you counting on receiving the visa before the 15th, Sandra?

Well it's supposed to go Ready->Ap->Issued so you might be on the right track! Crossing my fingers for us :D Does yours say nonimmigrant visa as well?

Well the July 15th was just what I preliminary wanted as far as POE goes, so I haven't booked anything yet. Still hoping it's on the table but I probably won't know until the status says Issued

Mine said AP after my interview cause of the birth certificate I had to mail in, I saw that they got it this morning so I've been updating the status page as often as I can today and the only change I saw was the status updated date changed to today's... I'm not sure if I missed it change to ready or just been AP the whole time! And it's still immigrant. This is nerve wrecking, haha.

I'm aiming to fly to the states on August 10 but I'm hesitant to book it as well. Not gonna book anything until it says at least issued. >.<

Thank you! That´s great to hear! :) And I do have personbevis 120 in english :)

Btw, did they ask for any proof that you had payed the fee? I know you had to prove this before but since you can´t book an interview without having payed it feels strange if you still need to bring proof from the bank. On the check list one of the bullet´s says fee so I just want to double check.

Thanks!

No, you don't have to bring any receipts or anything, the DS-160 confirmation page which you DO have to bring (they won't interview you without it) is proof enough.

Edit: Also one thing they asked for that I hadn't brought (but they said it was fine/not mandatory) was the appointment confirmation page that you get in your email after you schedule the interview at the embassy, it has 2 barcodes on it that prove that you have paid and I guess it's more convenient for them if you bring it.

As Kat said, they didn't ask for proof of payment (even though I had it with me) but they did ask for the appointment confirmation page.

I'm on my phone, so I don't know how to upload a pic.. But I'll write it instead.. :)

So now my case says "in transit"

And under it, it says:

Your case is in transit to the consular section. Your interview date was provided to you from the national visa center....

Huh??

My interview date is provided by NVC?

I've already scheduled my interview date.. Is this normal?

I am possibly the most stupid person here on VJ....

I just figured out that I put my fiancé as my immediate relative on the DS-160..... Omg!

So now I made a new DS-160 and send them an email explaining why and what went wrong. I just hope that they aren't too strict about all this.. And I hope that I am not the first person who made this stupid mistake..

The reason why I did it, is bc it said in the right side of the page that a immediate relative could be a fiancé, sibling or similar... So I thought it was the right thing to put a yes there.... I'm just so annoyed with my self...

Do you guys think they will look at it like something major problem?
