well at Oakland airport its so small that they only have a line for everyone. So all the americans have to stand in same line as us hehe. Thats a slow line! But i know for a fact you have to go to the Immigration line for citizens! Thats what the embassy told me when i double checked in Stockholm. I didnt even get to secondary room. He just did it all at the counter! Was perfectly smooth and fast and no questions asked for once!! ? we leave for Hawaii 13th of July, then we have to get the marriage license same day as theres that 24 hour rule of not being able to use it 24 hours after we get it. We booked it online ans filled out the papers already so its ready to sign and be picked up. Then 14th is a prep day with a bucket shopping and the beach. We found this awesome pastor who will wed us and do everything for us for 200$! The 15th in the sunset we will wed! We met the 15th of October 2012 for our first date in New York so we wanted that date! Its gonna be a tight one!! Hopefully the weather will be with us and perfect! The rest is 5 days of honeymoon! Woohoo!!! SSA office is on friday! Fingers crossed! How are things moving along with you guys?? ?? Hugs Camilla

thank you so much?? hope its your turn soon!!

Congratulations on an easy POE and upcoming wedding. :) Wedding and honeymoon on Hawaii sounds pretty perfect. :)

Do you know if you arrived during the airports rush hour? I would guess they're most likely to pull you into secondary during rush hour so you won't create a big line. I know Dulles (the airport I'm going too) have a crazy amount of flights in customs at the same time during rush hour and it would probably happen if I arrived during that time.

It wasn't that busy, the Icelandair flight was the only one in line at the time.

When we POEed all first entry immigrants were sent to secondary. I guess it just depends on the day and the airport.

I POE'd at Logan Boston in 2013, during a slight rush hour, and didn't have to go secondary - which I was happy about, since I'd already been twice on previous visits. Not a fun experience even though they let me in both times.

Soo went to the Ssa office. As i imagined i didnt get me anyway.. The guy told me i needed a "card" of the I-94. I had the print out with my entry already. I know nothing about a card? I asked what the card looked like. He said just like the I-94 but in a little card instead. Eeeeehhhh. Whats the difference? He said call immigration and get it or wait for them to send it to them. as far as i know im not gonna recieve anything zzz. He didnt even look at me when he talked. Only at my fiance. A little rude. Like i was dumb or smt. I might be blond but hehe. Anyway, he also said : it has to be 10 days after you arrive. So come back. And bring the original BC too. Well. The embassy took that. I have a copy. Gahh. And he said im not in their system till 10 days later. So i asked what system? The SAVE system. He knew nothing about the SAVE system and just didnt tell us what "system" he was referring too. Anyway. We are going back on monday. Not sure if its gonna be the same place. Im not getting a card from anyway therefor i cannot present an I-94 card. Am i wrong here or is that anywhere on VJ? I cant find it? I just thought he was full of it hehe. He looked at my passport saying i see ur visa is good for a year. I said no just for 90 days. And he got offended and said: okay just go back and get these things. And end of conversation zz ?? ahh i had a feeling about this hehe. Help. Have u guys ever heard of recieving the I-94 card?? Everything is electronic now?? Camilla

Sounds like you just encountered something that couldn't be bothered providing any service.. Not hear of an I-94 card ever, I'd just print out the section where it says that SSN should be given to K1 visa holders, and ask for a supervisor if they do not comply next time you head in

Wonder were he has been for the last 4-5 years... The I-94 card haven't been used in at least 4-5 years, you used to get it attached to your passport. It's all electronic now days. So no you won't get a card. It will not take 14 days anymore, since it's electronic it's instant. You should do like Sandra said and ask for a supervisor next time.

Welcome to America ;) I do not like dealing with anything related to DMV, SSN, or IRS.... They always make you feel like a complete idiot even when they are the ones who are completely dumb.

I haven't really had the time to be excited yet :P When I talk to Seve I'm super excited. But I have a ton of things to do, most is stuff related to helping my parents with various things around the house. I also need to contact... I don't even know what it's called in English: it's a department we have that deals with giving us money for maternity leave, disability pay etc. I wasn't aware that they would be notified that I moved to the US in 2011 and now that I came back in 2014 they weren't notified and when I scheduled a dentist appointment last month for July 3 they told me that I was not eligible for government subsidies. I sent them a form saying I've been back in a year and haven't heard from them so I need to call them.

I have to send in a form saying I'm moving to the US.

I have to go through all my stuff, have some shipped over and then start packing. Next Friday after my dentist appointment I'm going down to the south part of Sweden to visit my brother. So there's so much going on right now :P

What I'm really excited about though is I have applied for a volunteer position as a Travelers Aid at Dulles so we'll see how that goes. :) Would love to have something to do a few hours a week until I have my work permit.

Is everything ready for your trip to Hawaii? Getting excited? ;)

Well, I can't exactly blame Dulles I guess, but since my fiancée is down in the VA beach area I always fly in there. First them I flew to then boyfriend I was 16 and the immigration line was absolutely horrible, they only had 3 border control people working a line of like 300 people and I ended up missing my connecting flight to Norfolk. This has happened twice, even though I always make sure to have at least 2.5 hours for layovers. I fly SAS and they always get in at 3pm so we're always battling rush hour... Only the first time was truly heartbreaking because I was so young and it was my first time in the big ol' US and I had absolutely noooo clue how to proceed. I thought I was stranded in D.C and almost cried my way to United's help desk where they put me on the next flight

Last time I flew into Dulles they had finally put the machine things in, and it was super smooth. Printed my receipt and the officer only asked me how long I was staying and sent me on my way. Love/hate :D
