Visst ligger både x-ray kliniken och sibyllekliniken på Östermalm? Last minute stress :D

Yes, they do and they are withing walking distance of each other. Double check the address for Sibyllekliniken, be sure you have the address on Karlavagen and not Sibyllegatan. Sibyllegatan is where the lab is where you'll get tested for Syphilis. The address on Karlavagen is the actual clinic.

Thanks for the heads up! I had looked it up on google maps and it made sense to me that sibyllekliniken would be on sibyllegatan, I probably would have been lost haha.

Yes, and it's impossible to find an address on their website and a quick google search tricks you into thinking you're supposed to go to Sibyllekliniken. I actually thought it was on Sibyllekliniken went to the lab and saw a sign on the door saying where the actual clinic was. Thankfully I was there super early so I had plenty of time to find it. They're not that far away from each other though.

If you're taking the subway, the x-ray clinic is at Tekniska Hogskolan station. Turn left on Vallhallvagen and the x-ray clinic is on the left side, entrance M.

Sibyllekliniken is right on the corner of Karlavagen, next to door 56. You can walk there from Sophiahemmet. Get to Sibyllekliniken a little early because you have to fill out a form and put all your papers in a plastic folder. You give it all to the nurse, not the receptionist, as it says on the plastic folder.

I'm still obsessing about health insurance, and I found this:

http://www.***removed***.com/fiance-visa-medical-insurance/

I just don't understand how to go about purchasing insurance, no idea what's good or not. One thing I noticed with this one is that it's easier to buy for us who aren't in the states yet since everyone can have it. When I went on the website for the Washington Health Plan Finder, even though immigrants and non-immigrants can have those insurances in theory too, they all ask for your SSN number in the application, which we don't have of course.

I'm toying with the idea of getting the insurance on that link for a couple months, and then finding a proper plan since I'll have my SSN by then. Does this seem like a good idea?

...okay no idea why the link was removed, are some providers on some sort of blacklist or something? :P

Okay I found the same insurance on another website, still have no idea why parts of that link above was removed (there seems to be an auto-remove setting on that word, I've seen other forums have that function for swearwords... I'm guessing that website isn't popular around here..? It was insu-buy in one word if anyone were curious), but here's a link to the insurance at least: http://www.imglobal.com/en/img-insurance/travel-medical-insurance/patriot-travel-medical-insurance.aspx

My guess is, since you mentioned the word buy in the link that it got removed because the website thought it was solicitation. But that's just a theory!

I've been thinking about trying this one: http://www.visitorscoverage.com/

It's for green card holders, student visa holders and for people travelling to the united states. Don't know if they're good but hopefully I won't have to actually use it and they're cheap. Would only need it for about 3 weeks.

Hi guys, I'm still waiting for the embassy to receive my petition from NVC so they can reschedule my interview. I'm not in a hurry, and yet I hate the waiting, lol. At least I want to leave before November so my son can celebrate his 10th birthday with grandma and grandpa in Illinois. But it's only June! (feels like April, burrr.)

Yes, you would think it's April. Can't wait to go home where it's nice and warm! Only 21 days left. About 1 week left until I go visit my brother before the big move.

I really don't want to travel with 2 suitcases but don't really have any options apart from taking two bags or leaving things behind. Again. Tried to figure out how to ship a 5kg box to the states but it's really hard to figure out the cost. They want customs value etc and I have no idea. They're mostly trophies so I don't know. I wanted to try and see if there's a company that would let me ship it by boat but that seems to be mostly for companies. Guess I'll just leave it behind.

Cheapest so far is FedEx: 2400 SEK for a 5kg box. That's by air. Like I said, shipping by boat is probably easier but I haven't been able to find a company that is for regular people and not companies. I think I read somewhere that moving companies can help you out with that but I'm not sure.

It could be that since for example DHL only allows company to ship by sea a moving company could help you get a container on a ship. I don't know how much that would cost though.

I checked with shipping companies, and they're crazy expensive for regular people. Cheapest one I could find said NOK 12000 for 5 boxes, totaling about 20 kg.

I'm bringing 2 suitcases with me (I have to pay for my second with KLM/Delta, but oh well, at least it's not a lot), and I've shipped some stuff by mail. First box was about 6.5kg and cost me NOK 630 to ship - not too bad, I think.

Was that a Norwegian or International company? Wish I could find a price like that!!
