Well, you haven't really "moved" because until you marry and file the I-130, you aren't considered an immigrant...

Well it kind of depends on how you define it. I thought going away as an Au Pair didn't count since I was only on a visa and not a Green Card or whatever. When our version of the IRS found out I had not let them know about it they were PISSED. :P So yeah, it will probably count but I bet people do it all the time.

Hehe! Well i have no reason to tell IRS. I paid off all my student loans and bank loans. Yeah, my account is dry right about now but im debt free for the first time. As far as i know with the danish rules, i dont have to do taxes once a year for denmark since my papers will say i immigrated to the states and can no longer pay taxes or vote. I hope it will be fine! N-o-l-a excatly my thought! Im not anything overthere either till we marry and file for AOS right after. But like i said. Im gonna weat helmet and have smoothies till im on my fiances insurance just to be sure hehe ? in 3 days im making the big move! hope all goes well!

Yes, this process really messes with your head. Especially when you start to double, triple and quadruple check that you really have everything for the interview checklist... oh boy :P Good luck with everything :)

I am back for more questions, sorry...

So I got the checklist today;

1. Are we not to bring a stamped envelope with a shipment label? I recall my sister doing this for her student visa, but it's not mentioned

2. For registration of address where you select where to pick your visa up, they tell you to bring proof of UID confirmation number, what is this? I can't seem to find it on ustraveldocs

3. Are we supposed to print out the appointment confirmation? (Is this the confirmation page mentioned in 2?)

Thanks again hehe

Seeing your pictures really makes me want to go back now! Really nice pictures :)

Yeah for me Pearl Harbor was also why I picked Oahu. I couldn't go out to the USS Arizona Memorial as there was some bad weather coming in and they wouldn't let anyone go out there. I did get to go on USS Missouri were the sign the peace treaty so that was nice. Like you said, it's very emotional to be there and the word "cool" just feels wrong to use.

I stayed at the Maile Sky Court. Would only recommend it if you can't afford anything else. I was making minimum wage and picked it. Doesn't include any meals but it's close to the beach though I was too busy with tours etc that I think I only really spent a few hours actually being on the beach :P

I went up to Diamond head, took a submarine tour to see fish and the coolest thing I've ever done: Helicopter tour over the island. I hate heights and I really hate flying but the Helicopter tour was so amazing I forgot all about being scared :P

Sounds wonderful! :)

I was recommended to go on a helicopter tour, but both my wife and I are afraid of heights, so we passed on that.

1. No, you don't need this. I think that this is only for non-immigrant visas or they just got tired of people not bringing enough stamps. Plus you'll be getting your passport in a big plastic bag together with your big envelope so it wouldn't work.

2. The UID confirmation number should be on your appointment confirmation paper if I remember correctly.

3. Yes, since it has your UID on it and you will also need to show this to the security guard before being let in.

You're welcome :)

Thanks for the heads up! Mine is booked for next week, fortunately I am able to stay with my sister so it won't be too expensive.

The only thing that might be of a concern is that I don't have any hard evidence of having chicken pox, but the lady at the clinic said that I wouldn't have to do the blood immunity test as long as I knew the year I had it... we'll see. How much did you pay for the immunity test if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to prepare as much as I can haha

The clinic in Stockholm takes 600 kr for every disease you need to show immunity for. So I had to show immunity against tetanus and diphtheria, even though I had a booster taken in 2012, so that then cost 1.200 kr. I had already taken a blood test to show immunity against MMR at my clinic in Malmo, which cost 700 kr for all three diseases.

If you've had a disease, they seem to be fine with you just saying it, as long as you can say when you had it. I had "vattkoppor" as a kid and could say which year, which the doctor was fine with.

And you were unable to request them from the clinic, hospital or school where you first got the vaccinations? That sucks :/

Yeah, my vaccination record from when I was a kid are all gone. Really does suck. :(

I actually asked about this a little while ago and got mixed answers. One person got through fine with just the personbevis the other one said you should request baptismal certificate from Riksarkivet. I requested one but haven't heard a pip from them since I sent them the request. If I haven't heard from them before I leave I'll just get a new Personbevis 120 and hope for the best.

It's a little tricky because if we request another Personbevis 120 before we leave, the marital status will say single for obvious reasons. Do you think they mind or should we wait until we register our marriage in Sweden and then send in AOS?

I don't think they care about that as you use it as proof of who you're parents are etc as we have it because of lack of birth certificate. The problem is if they don't believe that Sweden does not have a birth certificate. The embassy accept it because a lot of them are Swedish and know what it is. The AOS people might not understand it.
