They have to wait for the result of the syphilis test before sending the medical to the embassy. When I was there they told me the embassy would have received the medical about a week after my visit.

For being THE MOST important envelope ever (at least it feels that way) they sure picked the most fragile envelope. When I opened the big plastic envelope I realized the tape they used to seal the brown paper envelope had gotten stuck in the plastic one and of course that part was at the bottom. So I had to cut open the plastic bag around and down to the bottom to be able to free the super fragile envelope from the plastic bag :P

So happy for you!! I hope you guys will have a wonderful wedding day :) So nice to see everyone finally ending this part of the journey and going over to be with their loved ones :)

Today it is exactly 1 month until I get to see Seve again :) We'll get married just the two of us probably the weekend after I get back or the next one just to get the paperwork started and then we'll have a big one with friends and family on September 5th.

I know! To me its so odd how they dont just put the Do not open package in a box to make sure it wont get damaged! I actually asked at the embassy what to do if it was damaged. He didnt know and consulted a coworker, and they agreed that then we had to have the postoffice sign that it was damaged. But uhmm. They did it hehe. They put it inside another brown package. My one side of the package the brown tape is opened and theres a hole. But not big enough to stick a hand in. A finger could. But im not gonna do more about it. I cant? And i cannot tamper with anything with a finger in the package! So hopefully it will be okay since thats what theyre afraid people do! Awww it seems like counting down the last days are going by sooo slow! A month is over soon tho, and then its forever together ❤️?? i hope you guys will have an amazing forever hug when you land! Thats what im looking forward too! . We are doing a wedding alone too the first one at least. Then next summer we have invited all of denmark to join for a real big wedding along side with his family! I hope thats okay with immigration hehe. We are going to Maui and doing a sunset wedding alone in a month.. My fiance really wanted barefooted and no tight suit. Well a beach wedding it is! ?? im packing all my things down today. And going to mix it yourself goodies! Im bringing a ton of it home haha! They dont have the good goodies candy if you ask me ???? how are you guys packing down? You getting things shipped or just suitcases?

That feels reassuring know that the people we are supposed to contact in case of damaged envelope doesn't know how to handle it ;) Only thing you can do (you might want to double check with the embassy first though) is to just tape over the tear to prevent it from getting bigger. Depending on how you pack it during your flight (I know it says to not pack it but realistically who's going to sit with that thing in your lap for a 9+ hour flight?) it might grind against the inside of the bag you put it in or other items and it might make it worse.

Yes, now everything will possibly go too fast! I still have a few things to do: donating stuff to the church, have sleepover with my niece, celebrate mom, dads and my niece's birthday and then go down to visit my brother in the south part of Sweden and then fly from Denmark :)

And yeah, I agree with you, the candy in America is not good. I am bringing as much as I can! Especially salty licorice. Haven't managed to find it over there, I can only find soft licorice from Australia. I am hoping to only need two big suitcases, a carry-on and a big purse to bring everything over. Will have to do some "test packing" before to see if something needs to be shipped. How are you dealing with it? Suitcases or shipping?

Oh lucky girl!!! I love Hawaii! I've only been to Oahu but would love to go back to Hawaii and explore more islands :)

Yayy Camilla that is so great! I'm so jealous you're leaving so soon, but I'm not that far behind either so it's totally fine. And a Hawaii wedding, that sounds perfect! We're thinking of maybe Hawaii as a honeymoon, but that won't be until next summer again. We're getting married just the two of us right after I arrive, and then our proper wedding party will be next summer since it'll be easier for my friends and family to book and plan in advance.

And yeah, my envelope looked pretty banged up when I got it too, luckily no tears or holes though. I'm going to bring it in an old laptop sleeve in my carry on bag, so it's extra secure in there. I'm not going to ship anything, I had my fiance bring home a large suitcase with all my winter clothes/boots/jackets and some books when he visited in March, and then Icelandair lets you bring two large suitcases plus a carry on, so I think I'll be good for now. I won't be able to bring everything of course, but my plan is to leave a lot of stuff packed with my parents and then they can bring it over when they come visit. I used to live in Glasgow, Scotland (studied there for four years), and it was MUCH harder to move back to Norway then since I had so much stuff and I couldn't leave anything behind like I'm doing now. I had all my friends and family members visit me and bring empty suitcases to fill up, it was so stressful! This will be a breeze in comparison!

my parents gave me an excellent advise. To put thr package in a plastic bag and then in the carry on stroller. That way it simply wont rub against anything. They do it with their ironed shirts etc. I am placing that and the xray cd in a stroller carry on alone. And then taking a purse with all my flying gear. So i will just not use the stroller for anything else. Maybe i should call the embassy. I just havent found a number that works hehe. Im sure the boarder control can see i havent done anything. They must have seen this before. Else i guess im screwed ?? its so funny youre flying out of Denmark. Im flying to Stockholm and then Oakland. Norweigan had a one way ticket with the dreamliner, i got 2(!!) suitcases of each 20 kgs im allowed with all for 3500 danish kroner. Ive never had it so cheap before!!! I have almost all my things and clothes in our home overthere already. I sold my apartment last year and all my things and moved back in with my parents after being on my own for 10 years. Oh boy haha! But its been super nice. Getting some quality time before all this actually. So i am having one suitcase with the rest of my clothes, and then one with alllll my danish books and cds and nick nags! Hehe. What cant be brought my family will bring when they visit us in August for 14 days! Only thing i havent got is a wedding dress ?? YESSSS salty licorice!!!!! I had a storage full last time of Läkerol salty licorice and mentos licorice and chocolate with licorice. My fiance says we are weird with the licorice haha! But theres a store, 10 min from us that has Daim chocolate and Haribo gummis and german candy so it helps a litte in times of need haha ??❤️ Awww sounds nice with some good quality time with the family! Suddenly its clear how they all will be missing in our lifes and future family with babies etc. I think its good you have time to spend days with them all!!

sounds like youre doing the same as me i feel confident im doing it right then hehe ? ive never been to Hawaii! We have travelled all of europe and the states together but not there. todd has been to Kauai (spelling) all his childhood but Maui is a first! We go for 7 days so first wedding then awesome alone time on honeymoon before everyday life sinks in again ? i have left my clothes bit by bit everytime ive been home for the past 3 years in San Fran. Im glad i get to come home now cause alllll my summer clothes are in our condo haha. Good timing!! When were you leaving? Im getting nervous about getting the SSN made and obtaining a DL. I dont have one in denmark. The public transportation is so great here i never needed a drivers licensens. But california. Forget it. Have to drive hehe! Hope it will work out okay! We should make a facebook account for all of the scandinavians!

Yeah I'm sure it's completely fine to do it like we are with a small wedding first and a big one later, I'm sure it's pretty standard in our situation! You can't really plan a proper wedding in the time you're applying for the visa, and when you get the visa you just want to get married as soon as possible to get the next stage of the paperwork going! Oh god I'm so nervous about getting an SSN and that stuff, I also need to get a DL for the same reasons you do. Seattle public transport isn't the best, but it's not the worst either, so we'll see how it goes, but I assume I'll need one eventually. I'm leaving July 29th, my last day at work is July 21st and then I have a week to say goodbye to everyone! It's so sad and exciting at the same time!

And yes, a Facebook account is a great idea! :D

i think i saw someone saying if we want a DL we need the SSN. And it will also expire along side with the EAD. And then again when the green cards expire zzzzz what a weird system! They dont make it easy to try and obtain a normal life! But hopefully we can help each other out! Im gonna file for SSN 2 weeks after i arrived. People say i cant before cause it takes Boarder control 2 weeks to put us in the system when we enter. Im pretty sure tho, before i ever recieve the SSN in my maiden name, we are already married and have to change it into my married name! But that time, that pain. Or well. You know that saying hehe! Yeah Seattle is also a hilly as San Fran so biking is well, hard hehe! I will make sure to post allll the experiences with DMV and SSN office once im there! A lil month more of work and then youre off to become a married lady too! ? you just get to have some days to enjoy the summer before youre off to hotter conditions ?? awesome! Is anyone a shark at facebook? I check mine daily but im a clown at it with groups etc! Thought it was fun to put faces on everyone and share inthere too!

Yeah, I think a lot of people have a small ceremony together and then a big one later. And as long as you either have the Green Card or advance parole having a big wedding in Denmark is no problem either :)

Metope - I have a driver's license in both countries and I can tell you that driving in USA is so much easier. Yes, you have to be really tough and assertive when you want to make lane changes or otherwise you won't get where you want... But the rules and stuff are so much easier. Next step for me is getting a license for a motorcycle! It is also way cheaper to get a licence. Just be ready to spend a whole day at the DMV when it is time for your driver's test etc...

Yes, we should definitely make a group on facebook or something so we can hang out there! :)
