I coudn't risk not getting to my step goal And the funny thing was that they kept calling it a "smart watch" and I was like "no, it's a fitbit" (My future father-in-law calls it the Fitbitch...)

Got my visa in the mail today! It was issued May 5 (according to the CEAC tracker), so it got here really quickly. Not gonna lie, it felt pretty darn awesome to open up my passport and see the visa attached in there.

For those who recently had their interviews in Stockholm...

How large of a bag can one bring to the embassy (to hold paperwork)? I've seen on the embassy website that luggage and electronics are not allowed. I'm wondering if a brief case/messenger bag or small backpack would be allowed inside?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I am not entirely sure what happened to they guy who brought a backpack, if he had to leave the bag outside or if it was allowed in. However I did see women with pretty large handbags who were allowed to bring them in.

Thanks for the input. The interviewee is male, so I think a purse is out... I'm guessing a soft sided briefcase is a better choice than a backpack. Whatever he brings, he'll be stuck carrying it around Stockholm all day.

All visitors to the Embassy are subject to an airport-type screening. When planning your visit here, bring only what is needed for your business with us. If you have items with you that cannot be taken into the Embassy, you may either not be let into the Embassy, or the items will be confiscated by the security guards. All items are subject to inspection and your wait time outside the Embassy depends on the items you and other visitors bring.

Here is a list of items not allowed in the Embassy:

Cameras;

Cell phones;

Laptops;

Any other electronics, such as MP3 players, I-Pods, etc. (No item with a wire, battery, or circuit board may be brought into the Embassy);

Large shopping bags;

Luggage, large backpacks, briefcases;

Tools of any size, such as leathermans, Swiss army knives, etc.;

Weapons of any kind.

There is a limited storage space for small items such as electronic equipment, cellular telephones or I-pods at the embassy entrance. We do not have lockers or storage facilities for bigger luggage at the Embassy. We suggest you make good use of the storage facilities at the main bus/train station in Stockholm (Centralstationen), or at the airport.

Dang! I've used my messenger bag at the embassy in Copenhagen without any problems, so I thought my husband's soft briefcase (pretty much the same size) wouldn't be an issue. Perhaps I got by with my messenger bag because I'm a woman. They may have considered it my purse. All of our docs are in a plastic folder, which is fairly secure, but not waterproof. If it rains, those pages will be a mess.

I completely agree! They should do like airlines and write accepted sizes with measurements. And I don't get why women are privileged and get away with bringing huge handbags the size of normal backpacks when people are not allowed to bring backpacks.

Agreed! I decided not to chance it, and just brought a very small purse that basically only held my credit card, my phone (decided to bring it for easy access to bus tickets through the app) and my keys. The purse was allowed in, the phone and keys were left with the security guards. I'd bought a thicker plastic document folder for all my documents, and it worked just fine - though it should be said that it didn't rain at all.
