Then I'll just wait... I'm guessing the department of security just really wants to be able to trust that your vaccines were really done, by a Doc's office they appointed or got appointed somehow.

it might be different from country to country, if you feel uncertain you could call the medicals office and make sure. Looks like you guys have walk ins for the medical so maybe its alright with you? Danish people are tight and tense with most things hehehe. ;-)

Renatesol: did you get to schedule your own interview or was it done for you from the Embassy? Curious. Cause my medical has a wait of 3-4 weeks, so i would like to schedule my own interview so i wont be in trouble for not being able to do my medical before the interview :-/ and did you book ur medical as soon as u had your NVC number or did u get info from the Swedish embassy? Couldnt find an answer at the Swedish embassy. :-))

Once you've submitted your DS-160 (I did this after getting the email from the Swedish embassy after they received my paperwork) and paid for the visa, you can schedule your interview online. It's a super easy system - you basically get to see a calendar with the available dates and click the one you want. :) I waited until I got all the info from the embassy before I scheduled my medical. I had asked the embassy beforehand if I could schedule the medical before I heard from them, and they said no, so wait I did... Now my medical is scheduled for tomorrow (eek!) and my interview for the 30th. :)

You saved my night sleep!!! Seriously!! Ive looked for this answer for so long! THANK YOU Renatesol!' Youre awesome!! So you couldnt do the DS160 when you got the number from the NVC, before the case has been shipped to the Embassy? I just wanna do it all so fast that I dont run into summer vacation closing weeks at the Embassy in stockholm. Would suck if all there was left was the interview and then you get a date for after the summer in August or September. :-/ Thank you for helping me with these answers! My fiance will love this! Ive been have stress in my tummy over this part of the process. Not knowing what when and where to do it and to find answers! MUCH appriciated, Tack så mycket!! Camilla :-)))

And best of luck tomorrow with the medical!! You will do great!! Just breathe! You are so close to being with your loved one!! :-))

Aww, thank you! :) And I'm glad I could help, I know how stressful all of this is, especially when you feel like you don't have all the information you need. If you have your case number from the NVC, you can definitely start filling out your DS-160 now, but I would probably wait until the embassy has received your file to submit it. But if you start it now, you might be ready to submit right away once they have your file. That's what I did, and I didn't run into any issues. :)

Good luck!! I'm waiting for my FIL to finish up his joint-sponsor I-864. I hate when it's out of my hands...I'm ready with everything else, just need to send it all in once he gets it done!

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive place to stay near the Swedish embassy?

It is possible to fly to Stockholm early in the morning (prior to interview), but I am thinking it would be better to arrive the night before.

When I had my interview for a student visa I flew to Stockholm and spent the night at Scandic Ariadne. Price is not bad and you can take the buss from the buss stop right outside the hotel almost all the way to the embassy, it takes about 20 minutes if I remember correctly and then it's a short walk. The hotel is nice, pretty new and great service.

I've booked a room at Hotel Drottning Kristina Stureplan. Decent prices, and the reviews were good. :)

I sent my things in in December and I have already forgotten what it all was :-)

You will need to provide the last three years' worth of tax records. You can order them for free from the IRS.

http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

You can find the N400 form, the instructions, and a document listing all the things you will need to send in here:

http://www.uscis.gov/n-400

Awesome thanks!!

Im not looking forward to the paperwork again lol and the wait! But the field office up here has surprised before! When we needed our new green cards last year it took 3 weeks from that I scheduled the appointment to having the actual cards in hand!

But knowing how slow things are im sure that was just a fluke but one can hope right lol

It looks like the Alaska field office takes about 7 months to process an N400 right now.

Since there's only 4 (or is it just two now days?) embassy approved doctors in all of Sweden and only 1 in Gothenburg your doctor is this doctor:

Göteborg

Dr. Einar Persson

Kungsportsläkarna

Kungsportsavenyn 10

400 10 Göteborg

Tel: 031-339 99 70

Website: http://www.kungsportslakarna.se/

*IMPORTANT*: Only does this type of appointments on Thursdays

If it's anything like when I did my K1, you'll get a letter/email from the embassy with a list of the doctors available, so like Maria&Seve said, you don't have that many options. I will say that Dr. Jan Arlestig at Sibyllekliniken in Stockholm was a pleasure to work with and very thorough and swift. But if you live in Göteborg you'll probably want to stick with your local doc.

Entered on a K1 Visa, now a proud holder of a ten-year Green Card!
