Hi guys, I'm way ahead of things at the moment, did not file any documents or apply, still need to find out if it's even feasible in my situation. However I have a quick question about vaccines needed...

I was immunized for everything on the requirement list as a child (as far as I can see), except for Hep B. Is this a vaccine they require I get? Also, will my certification of vaccinations showing immunization as a child (I am 28 years old) still be valid, or do I need to get a "refill" of certain vaccines?

I've seen some people say they were required to get a vaccine for varicella (chicken pox). I had the chicken pox when I was 4, but I don't really have any proof of this except if they check my blood.

Takk!

Here's what I was told by the doctor who does the medical exams for Norwegians: If you're between the ages of 19 and 49, the vaccines you need are MMR, tetanus/diphteria (must be refilled if it's been more than 10 years since you had yours - I had that done and got the combo tetanus/diphteria/pertussis/polio vaccine), varicalla unless you've had it. You can get a printout of your old vaccinations on https://helsenorge.no/vaksiner/mine-vaksiner, and this is good enough for the medical exam.

It doesn't hurt to be ahead of things, especially not the immunizations which are easily done ahead of time and won't "expire" while the visa process is underway. :)

Tusen takk ;)

Can I simply tell the doctor I've had varicalla disease (vannkopper) and they'll believe me? It's not like you can get that again once you've had it. I got the print out already, and it's been more than ten years since I've had any of them, so I guess I should get a refill...

MMR does not need to be refilled right? Never heard about that.

Sounds like all I need is to get the combo vaccine you had!

At least in Denmark, you just needed an oral confirmation of childhood Chicken Pox.

The TdaP should be the only booster you need if you have proof of MMR.

Just a random heads up if you're female and planning on having children soonish - the Rubella immunity can run out. I had my shot as a kid and am now pregnant, got told that I'm no longer immune to Rubella and that I'll have to retake the shot once I'm no longer pregnant. So it can run out! But immigration will obviously not test you for immunity, so as long as it's in your papers you should be fine.

Does anyone know where to find the DOS Case ID?! We are trying to pay for the immigrant fee to enter the US, and tried a bunch of different numbers we've been provided! It says it's supposed to be 3 letters followed by 10 numbers and we haven entered all numbers we can find and none of them seems to work.

I would guess this is the one provided to you by the NVC? If so it should start with STK, then 10 numbers. I got ours by calling the NVC,

Yes! that is the number we have put in, but it keeps saying it's the wrong number. We are going to call them today because something has to be wrong with the website! So frustrating.

Thanks though! Now we know for sure we are putting in the right one :)

Updatet on the immigration fee!! We were now told by the embassy in stockholm that K1 Visas DO NOT need to pay the 165 dollar fee for entering the US. Is this true? From what we know you do have to pay? Have everyone else paid this on the Elis website?

Hey!

Would anyone know how long a Danish police certificate is valid for?

I don't live in Denmark but I did up until the age of 18.

Thanks!

L

The Danish police certificate we ordered this year has a date of issue, but there is not a stated expiration date.

I sent my things in in December and I have already forgotten what it all was :-)

You will need to provide the last three years' worth of tax records. You can order them for free from the IRS.

http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

You can find the N400 form, the instructions, and a document listing all the things you will need to send in here:

http://www.uscis.gov/n-400

It looks like the Alaska field office takes about 7 months to process an N400 right now.

Hi all,

My Norwegian fiancé is trying to pay his fee and schedule his appointment in Stockholm via the website they provide. After a few errors in registering, he has a login and password. But now, when entering his mailing address, he gets a message stating that "documents will only be delivered to an address in Sweden." Have any Norwegians or Danes had this problem before?

Thank you!

Hey Norwegians, how long did you wait to get an appointment for your medical in Oslo? I sent them an email last Wednesday, no reply yet. After 7 months at TSC I don't wanna wait any more than I have to now...

My fiancé called the Dr's office and left a message with his name and phone number. They texted back and asked him to email them at info@emigrationmedical.com. He heard back via email the next day and had an appointment within a week.

Maybe call them?
