Hi, I have a specific question to those interviewed at the embassy in Stockholm. I am wondering how tough they are on the domicile questions?

My American is here in Sweden with me, he owns the company which he works at (I also work there). We plan to sell it to move back to the USA.

We don't intend to apply for jobs since we want to yet again open up biz in the USA. My husband and I have american born kids, we will live with his parents while we get "established". We have no desire to look for a place to live there though, it will only be temporarily while we look for a place in a different State where we want to open up. The petitioner (my husband) has a drivers license, tax records, passport. That's "all". Will this be a problem or is the embassy in Stockholm pretty understandable and reasonable about these things? I appreciate hearing any of your own personal experiences. Thanks!

They didn't really ask very many questions at all and although we submitted some evidence of domicile as required in the I-864 instructions, I'm not even sure it was looked at because we did a rare case DCF and they hadn't even seen the paperwork beforehand. If they did we submitted proof of where we were going to stay at first, copy of current driver's license, and an email from the school district about enrolling my daughter in public school once we got there.

Sweden is an incredibly easy consulate, you'll be fine.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

Thank you so much for your response, we'll do what we can but can't really do much beyond that.

Hey fellow Scandinavians! We just got our I-129F approved, and I'm trying to establish a timeline (for practical reasons, such as having to give 3 months notice at work and for my apartment lease). How long does it normally take to get an interview at the Stockholm embassy? My case has yet to go to NVC, so I know it's all just guesstimating right now, but I'm hoping for a speedy forwarding of our papers so that I can have my interview before summer vacation starts...

Hi! I had my interview on the 29th of January in Stockholm, but I had to send in some additional papers! Which I did two days ago (18/2), they said it could take up to two weeks to review and same time for them to send my passport. Just wondering if someone has been in the same situation and wanted to know how long it took for you? Did it take about four weeks or did they finish quicker? I know they will send us a notification and tracking once they send the passport, but I'm still curious :)

Fingers crossed for a short wait time for me as well! I'm hoping to be able to move to the US in June/July. :) Another question - what exactly does the embassy ask for in packet 3? I've sent my fiance the list of documents found on the K1 visa guide here on VJ, but is there anything else?

I know it may be early for me to be asking all these questions, but I'm one of those people who prefer to prepare well ahead of time...

I don't remember exactly what was in it... It wasn't anything super weird though. I think the police report took the longest to arrive for me. It depends on how "complicated" your life has been. Previous marriages, divorces, kids, court records, military service etc will all require documents. They LOVED it when I showed them pics from a vacation I'd taken with my American after the K1 applicaiton had been sent in, so bring in new proof of relationship, photos etc if you can, just in case.

This part is a pretty easy process, honestly. And Stockholm is an easy embassy. They're friendly and professional.

Welcome to the other side eventually! :) God, there's so much snow here. It's toooo muuuch... /Sorry, New England ramblings.

Hi guys, I'm way ahead of things at the moment, did not file any documents or apply, still need to find out if it's even feasible in my situation. However I have a quick question about vaccines needed...

I was immunized for everything on the requirement list as a child (as far as I can see), except for Hep B. Is this a vaccine they require I get? Also, will my certification of vaccinations showing immunization as a child (I am 28 years old) still be valid, or do I need to get a "refill" of certain vaccines?

I've seen some people say they were required to get a vaccine for varicella (chicken pox). I had the chicken pox when I was 4, but I don't really have any proof of this except if they check my blood.

Takk!

03-16-2015: Entered the US under VWP

06-05-2015: Concurrent filing I-130 and I-485

06-11-2015: Notification of receipt

06-19-2015: NoA Biometrics appointment notice

07-06-2015: Biometrics appointment

08-11-2015: NoA Interview date + I-693 needed

08-28-2015: Full medical for I-693
09-14-2015: Interview (Approved - IR-6!!)

09-21-2015: Welcome Letter received

09-22-2015: Permanent Resident Card in hand!

Here's what I was told by the doctor who does the medical exams for Norwegians: If you're between the ages of 19 and 49, the vaccines you need are MMR, tetanus/diphteria (must be refilled if it's been more than 10 years since you had yours - I had that done and got the combo tetanus/diphteria/pertussis/polio vaccine), varicalla unless you've had it. You can get a printout of your old vaccinations on https://helsenorge.no/vaksiner/mine-vaksiner, and this is good enough for the medical exam.

It doesn't hurt to be ahead of things, especially not the immunizations which are easily done ahead of time and won't "expire" while the visa process is underway. :)
