How did you all go about the required vaccinations? I've checked my vaccination record, and it seems a fair few of the ones I've had are way overdue for a "refill"... Did you wait until you had your medical and/or interview scheduled, or could I go ahead and start getting them from my GP (to spread the cost mostly, and just to be done with it)?

I had the same problem.

I would just 'get it done'.

I did my Swedish income taxes on Sunday. Mailed the papers in yesterday morning. I owe a lot of money, cause I sold my apartment (bostadsrätt) in January 2013 (I moved to Pittsburgh in December 2012). I don't owe quite as much as I thought, though... so maybe my wife and I can still go to Hawaii on our honeymoon. :)

Just got the news I'm approved for my EAD and my AP! Here's hoping the green card isn't too far behind. I'm hoping to go to Sweden this summer when my husband has military drill for a few weeks, but we don't really know how it's going to play out. Regardless, it's nice to know that I'll be able to travel in case I want/need to. Just wanted to share the good news! :)

Thanks! Yeah, I've had a good week news-wise. Also went to Washington DC to get a new passport in my married name. It was nice to speak Swedish with people other than my family.

I've been super lucky to have one of my best friends doing a semester abroad just an hour away from me, but she's leaving soon, so I'll really have to try to find new American friends to hang out with. How are you guys meeting new people? My husband's friends are great, but we don't really have a lot in common.

I can't remember where you said that you lived and I think it might have been Rhode Island? Maybe a bit of a drive, but http://scanclub.wordpress.com/ has activities with actual Scandinavians. I was one of the few native English speakers at an event we went to there.

As to friends, as an adult, it seems to a lot of times be neighbors and work colleagues. You can also try going to some meetup events.

Hi hello!

Got a quick question for you guys =)

Our case was accepted, and routed from TCS to CSC, does this mean we got transferred?

I thought so, and updated our timeline, but did I do so incorrectly?

Yep, your new center on the timeline would be CSC, I believe.

Whereabouts in Minnesota are you? We are closing on our house in Minnesota in a month, bought with the help of our Danish realtor.

I'm doing AOS from F-1 and received an RFE for my birth certificate. I sent a copy of the one from skatteverket that I used for my visa... I don't know what else to send? do you think it was because it was a copy of the copy with the stamp and signature?

have any of you from Sweden done AOS and can let me know what they want?

the RFE says I "submitted secondary evidence and/or a birth affidavit as proof of your birth record. However, the evidence you have submitted is insufficient."

Our journey:

12/17/09 - Met for the first time!

I think they want the original with the stamp. I got an RFE for doing the same thing.

Yeah, I'm in Rhode Island, and I know Boston has a fair amount of Scandinavians. Once we get our second car, I'll be able to get out more and go to events. :) Unfortunately, I work from home, so my only coworker is my cat. Don't get me wrong, she's lovely company, but not very talkative.

Yeah, I had to send in my only original too. Make sure you order a couple new ones, it doesn't cost extra and I'm sure you'll have use for them later on.

one more question. my personbevis doesn't list me as married since I haven't been to Sweden to change it. I thought I had to go to skatteverket in person to show marriage cetificate etc? will it be an issue that it says "single"?
