When I went to play on the beach in North Oahu – alone (not the smartest thing) – I could not keep up with the sand pipers: running down the beach, up the beach and away from the crashing waves. It was fun, and then I got spooked...I sat and watched from a dry distance. Magnificent!

You could not get into that water.

Beautiful pictures, Cat. You have a real talent. I remember having my pic taken at Monterey Bay in CA and the exact same thing happened. Only my boyfriend at the time knew that wave was coming and just stood there grinning while I stood there oblivious. He's an ex-boyfriend now. :lol:

Where is that. Near Pahoa?? Nice pictures. I saw that same thing happen on Kauai when I lived there. Honeymooner taking picture of their mate on a rock in Lumahai. Wave came and washed the guy away. Short honeymoon and last picture of the guy alive! :bonk:

Promise I'll never do it again. I'm from the Prairies, I have no idea how horrible the sea came be!

This is just 8 minutes from Pahoa town on the eastern shore.

Yes you are lucky he did not fall and did not get pulled out to sea. You would of been a widow, would you rather have a sissy hubby to continue to hold and hug and kiss or be a widow?

the Ocean is a powerful force, dont temp it, it is very very unforgiving.
