I found this on the Montreal Consulate link.

Effective Jan 1/07, Montreal mails the visas out. You will need to take a 314mm x 394mm or 30.5cm x 39.4cm Xpresspost, pre-paid (Flat-rate), signature required envelope with you to the interview. Address it to yourself. Most have received the envelope back within 2 business days HOWEVER, be prepared to wait at least a week. Some VJ members have waited for 7+ business days! Best advice - write down the tracking number so you can check it via the Canada Post website.

I haven't seen any other information. For me, that is comfusing, for I'm American and we deal in inches. LOL Can someone translate for me?? Have fun shopping! :goofy:

t says 394 mm x 314mm on the envelope in one of the corners. It's the biggest size that's not a bubble. You have to ask for the signature signature, it's an extra dollar.

I just picked it up, but I didn't ask for the signature.... I'll have to go back on Monday. Darn! Oh well- the post office is nearby.

ETA: On the Montreal Consular Services website it doesn't say anything about that signature thing. It says,

Passports and visas will be returned to the applicants with Canadian addresses by Canada Post, generally within three to five business days after the visa is approved. In person pick up will be available only in a legitimate emergency (as determined by the Consulate).

Applicants must go to a Canada Post office and buy an Express Regional mailer before coming to the consulate. These are not available at the Consulate. Approximate cost is CDN $7."

Where did you read that a signature is required?

^^ On my interview letter (page 3) one of the bullets says:

"Request your mailing label to be "signature required" to ensure that someone at the destination address has to sign for the envelope. This will ensure that your passport and visa, which are valuable documents, will not be left unattended."

It doesn't that say that it's a must - but after reading that, I agreed that it is a pretty important document and deserves the signature required sticker, so I went back to the Post Office and got the sticker to cover all my bases.

I haven't seen it anyplace else, though. Yeah, and we're still waiting for the P4 with the interview letter, so, right now I'm relying on VJ and its members for a lot of information.
