This reply is for GP Singh, there is no file upload option in VJ messenger when you reply someone so I am posting it here.

Yes Translate your birth certificate and review it with an advocate and take his signature on the statement at the end of the paper(see the sample letter).

than notarized it (I had hard time notarizing it, they were not agree to do it because they never did any. So you have to convince them along with the advocate). If you know someone that fine. (govt. people always give hard time in Haryana)

"People from other states and other countries can do it in your own way as it is guided on NVC website."

keep a photocopy of everything which you send to NVC and put them in the same sequence. And review it as many time as you can. we find our own RFE even before NVC could tell us and we were able to send it again with in the time but It was in I-864 though not in DS-230. But reviewing your own documents always helps you.

See the Attachment for sample translation. Its my own but make it in your own format as you like.

"A Translator can be anyone who can translate but must sign the statement at the end of the translation."

Arun.

Translation Requirements

All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations.

The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the:

  • Translation is accurate, and
  • Translator is competent to translate.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/in...ml#certificates

see the attachment i corrected. just type on the same paper which you notarized within the gap and ask translator to sign it and you are done.
