Green Card and Passport Name different

Now that we have the green card my wife is looking forward to going back to China for a visit. We applied for everything in her married name (SSN, EAD, Driver's License, and Green Card). However, her Chinese passport still has her maiden name. Is that going to be a problem when she comes back from China? Also, is there anything special that has to be done when she returns and goes through Customs with the Green card? Thanks!!

Just travel with a marriage certificate. Most people (including me) get the plane tickets in the passport name. When returning through immigration just have her go to the USC/resident line.

My wife returned with:

Passport (maiden name)

I-551 stamp

Marriage cert.

Plane tickets (maiden name)

No problems at all.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

She will need to carry a copy of her marriage certificate along with her passport and greencard... to show the link in the names... Oh she will need to have her tickets booked in the same name as her passport....

There is nothing special that she will need to do on return to the States just join the line for USC/Residents and show her passport Greencard and marriage certificate...
