hi there, I'm planning to apply for the K1 129 after the next time I go back to see her. A few questions.

1. I hear China is a high fraud area, so will that take a longer time than around 220 days?

2. AS anyone done is recently from CSC and if so, how long was the total process?

Thanks!

1. fill in your time line and you can compare it with others here. Nice little charts.

2. 72 days for me, but Umit is from Turkey.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I recently helped my brother in law file a petition where my wife's sister in the beneficiary. This was an I-130, because they are married, but CSC approved the petitition in 35 days. What takes longer through Guangzhou is between NVC complete and P3. They are backlogged and so, don't take receipt of packages until they are ready. Two or three months is lost in that process. 220 days would be about as fast as you could possibly expect from filing to visa interview.

Why do you have that number in mind?

I am in the same boat you are in. However, I sent in my I-129F on March 9th. I'll keep my situation updated. I'm hoping for a very quick and smooth journey. I wish you good luck when you submit your I-129F. I'm also from the San Francisco area too!

K-1 Progress:

I-129F Sent: 03/09/09

I-129F Received by CSC: 03/11/09

NOA1 Notice date: 3/12/09

NOA2 Notice date: 6/24/09

NOA2 Hardcopy: 6/29/09

NVC Received: 6/30/09

NVC Sent to GUZ: 7/6/09

I was researching through the processing time section and saw in the last year, 220 total days was the average. do you think it might take long say closer to 9 months time?

Nine months is a good estimate but we ARE seeing some significant improvement in the NOA1 to NOA2 timelines. Be aware though that delays can occur at any point in the process. It will take as long as it takes and if the outcome were assured, we wouldn't be petitioning and applying. We would just be "registering".
