Hi. We just sent in my husband's adjustment of status application last week March 5, but we havent got any updates yet if the uscis received our appllication or not. Is there any way we'll know if its there or if they already have encashed it, im really worried because theres awfully lot of money in that mail, the fee $1,010.. We sent it by priority so it must have been there since march 6 or the day after we sent it. My husbends visa will be expiring on april 30. Should i be worried? please help me.. im really worried and anxious.. THanks in advance

by the way, please inputs on when u received ur notice of action when u sent in your application?? thanks again

The only thing you can do is check your bank for the check. If it's a check, I would not worry about it in the mail.

Why did you wait so long to send in the AOS? Well, when you get the NOA1, your covered for the visa.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Did you send it Priority mail with delivery conformation? How did you send the payment - check, money order? have you checked to see if it has been cashed? It can take anything from a week to a month + for the check to be cashed and a NOA1 to be issued.

What visa did your husband enter the US on?

hes in k1 visa. we used a check for payment. we had a lot of things going on righ after the wedding so we applied a lil bit later than expected.. we did check the bank already and the money is still there. One question though worst comes to worst what if they havent encashed my husband's fee for AOS until his visa expires, what will happen? I sent both AOS and EAD at the same time, i sent it in the chiacago lock box, is the address correct? thanks for replying you guys.. much appreciated

dont worry, I was in the same boat last month. It takes approximately 16-18 days for the check to be cashed in your account.

And one week later, you will start getting the NOAs and again a week later biometrics interview date.
