So way back in august when we finally decided to go through with this we sent off our I-129F.

I decided to send my Fiancee to english school and support her since she was coming to America.

It wasn't easy convincing her to quit her job, she's never had to rely on a man to support her.

Up until that point, I never sent her any money. She comes from a good family and has a good education, and had a good job.

We just sent off packet 3 and I'm wondering if she should bring proof of me supporting her to the interview.

I don't want it to look like I'm buying a wife but she also hasn't worked in six months, and our paperwork shows that.

The I-129F shows she had a job and the packet 3 stuff shows she doesn't. We've been together 2 years and we live

like we're married when we're together, whats hers is mine and mine is hers. She's not greedy and is quite stingy actually.

She's always on my case about spending. So will this look like to the embassy she's marrying for money?

Or that I'm trying to buy a wife? In the end I know I'm the one to decide what goes to the interveiew but some advice would be appreciated.

Maybe share your experience.

TIA

Jody

Thailand is a TOUGH embassy. Best to make multiple visits. I recently saw where one couple was denied because of only one time having met. Main thing with the dough is if they ask her tell the truth. Don't offer any info. Giving money could go either way with a K1. All depends on the CO.

yea it's a tough call. I've been here 9 times in the last 2 years so thats not a problem. I'm just not sure about the money. I've also bought a computer and iphone for her and was thinking of sending the receipt but now I'm having doubts.

One of the main things is showing communication records [The PC and iphone adds to that.]and proving a bonafide relationship. 9 trips is a BIG plus. Are you attending the interview? That's a plus also. Tell your fiancee to throw in answers including how much she loves you anytime she can.

Example. Why do you want to go to the US. Answer! Because I'm deeply in love with Jack and want to spend the rest of my life with him.

My fiancée also lives in Thailand and I have sent her some money in the past too. My gut told me that showing this evidence would be more of a liability than an asset during the interview. Having spoken with a trusted VJ member, and seeing him address this same issue with another member, I would strongly recommend against it.

Other evidence, such as boarding passes, entry stamps in passport, photos, emails (both from you and her), phone bills, etc. would be better evidence to present. As far as her employment, it's unlikely to even come up. They are more concerned about your employment i.e. yearly salary, than hers.

No I won't get to go, too bad I go back tuesday to the US. We sent packet 3 off Wednesday and of course haven't got anything back yet. Unless the interview is after April 8th I can't go because of work. I told her about throwing 'I love you" in there and she's got it. I'm just hoping we have enough evidence. SMS, email, pics, phone records, and boarding passes. I hope thats enough. Anyway thanks bro...

Thanks for the advice, I'm probably not going to show I've given her money. I think we have enough to work with. So your Fiancee got her visa I suppose?

Edit: nevermind I just read your sig.

It is likely that her interview shall be after April 9th. If you go to the Bangkok Embassy's website, there is a published list of interview dates that currently span all the way till the end of April. That list was published the beginning of March, so I believe that any interviews scheduled from this time onward are likely to be in May.

Don't have her mention that you give her money but at the same time if they ask her tell her to tell the truth.

Also How good is her English. Will she need a interpreteur?.

They may then question how the two of you communicate. I was just reading a thread on this in the China Regional section. Unless you are quite good in Thai language, be prepared to have her explain how the two of you have been able to speak to each other.
