It is $5, right behind the building. The orange line metro is right across the street as well, and of course more parking with that.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I have another question. On my biometrics letter it clearly stated that you weren't allowed to take cell phones into the building. On my invitation to the interview it doesn't mention that. Can you take cell phones and cameras with you? I was just wondering just in case I would get to take a same day oath (which I highly doubt but you never know).

My biometrics was held in Alexandria, and the interview/oath was in Fairfax, so 2 separate places. Yes one can bring in Phone/cameras to the interview/oath ceremony. I left mine in the car, but saw others bringing them in with no problems. I know at the Oath ceremony they encourage photographs, and many were using their cell phones to take pics.

Another inconsistency depending on the guards, swear my daughters' cell phone would have to be surgically removed from her left hand, but they let her take it in after she turned it off, that was painful enough for her. But I have seen other people requested to leave their phones with the guards where they could pick them up after they leave. It was only during the oath ceremony for us where cell phones were permitted to be carried as long as they were turned off.

On the slim chance that my wife could say the oath after her interview, I did toss my camera in the car, but it stayed there. She also got all dressed up with her warpaint on. Really wanted to bring it, so I could take a picture of GWB portrait hanging on the wall. But no problems with her oath ceremony, got all emotional and forgot to take a picture of GWB.

Yes, fingerprinting was done in Alexandria and my interview will be held in Fairfax. As I said, my biometrics letter had instructions about these issues, my interview letter doesn't. Even though they didn't even check for cell phones in Alexandria, just asked if you had one.

Hmm... maybe I should leave the camera at home. That way I will get to take the oath for sure. Isn't that how it usually goes when something is missing.

As I said, they encouraged photographs at the Oath ceremony. people had their cameras. As ur name was called to get ur certificate, The family member snapped ur picture. And if you wanted to stay after the ceremony and get more pictures, they encouraged that as well. Some used a regualr camera, some used the camera on their cell phone.

And yes biometrics did state that on the letter, but its no problem for the Fairfax office. I didnt bring my phone or camera, as it wasn't a big deal for me.

Hi Stella08,

Yes, cell phones are allowed in Fairfax VA DO, and i had my cell on silent all the time. I took my camera and left it in the car just in case they gave same day oath which didn't happen so this time I'm taking my camera for my oath ceremony in a week which you are allowed to do if you are scheduled for an oath at Fairfax DO. I hope this helps

Good luck
