Got NOA2 on December 5th. NVC never got it. Emailed them scan of my form, they say they searched and couldn't find it, so contact USCIS.

I call them and the guy says to fill out an I-824 form to get them to resend it.

$340? SERIOUSLY? THEY lost it. I did NOTHING. This is total bullcrap.

Your saying NVC never got your approved petition to send off to the Embassy?? You do not have to pay for this. (we don't call uscis the misinformation line for nothing ;) ) There is more than just the I-797 (NOA2) that is sent through NVC to the Embassy. If NVC has no record of it yet i'm afraid you probably have to keep contacting USCIS to be sure it was sent to the right place. This has been happening more and more lately.

good luck!

Well, it took me long enough to even reach an operator, and the guy spoke so fast, he didn't seem to care at all. (It took me 20 minutes of searching online before I found out he said 824, not 24)

Any idea the phone menu choices I should use? If I select an approved case, all I can do is request to change the address.

First of all... Do you have (in hand) your I-797c NOA/Approval Notice? (If so, you don't need to file an I-824)...

Yeah. I scanned and emailed the copy I have to the NVC. I'm writing to my local congress dude now. David Dreier for me.

OK so you have an official NOA stating your petition was approved and NVC has not received your approved petition.

You need to be contacting USCIS (not NVC) to find out where your (now) approved petition is - they (USCIS) is responsible for getting it to NVC. (Just so you're focusing on the right place.)

P.S.,

It would be helpful if you had your profile & timeline complete - helps people help you. You're not filing for N/A at N/A.

My timeline isn't filled out because fiancee had it filled out on her account, but got a bit frustrated and deleted her account because this was taking so long.

And from all the times I've contacted the USCIS they just keep blowing me off saying they sent it and I need to fill out that form to get it to go anywhere.
