Hi,

Just got back from my Biometrics Appointment at an ASC in NY. I was scheduled for 10:00AM(03-13-2009) but entered the building at 9:00AM. The reception Officer gave me a board, and a form to be filled. Thereafter I was sent to the waiting hall that was almost empty. My number was called in a few minutes and I was done with the finger printing and pictures in 10 minutes. Nothing much was said besides Good Morning & Take Care.

When should I expect a response from USCIS regarding the EAD? Usually i have seen from the VJ timelines, that the AP is handled alongwith the EAD.

EAD is typically approved within a 60-90 day time-frame - AP can take that long as well (especially if no emergency need is requested).

In short - once biometrics is done, most folks have a fairly short wait for EAD/AP and even sometimes for the PR/Green Card...

Now I am in a fix. I had my I-485/I-765 Biometrics on the 13th Of March and on the 14th, I received another Biometrics letter from USCIS which was scheduled for the 03-24-2009. What should I do now? I know they sent me a duplicate letter, but should I call them or visit the ASC. I read somewhere on this forum that for duplicates, one has to take the second letter and have it cancelled by them. When can I drop in for that.

Anybody Care to advise.
