Hi all.

I have some questions about the i-134 form, that I dont understand.

My fiance's boss is gonna co-sponsor me, they seem to have a great relationship, and since my fiance is still a student and only works parttime, he can't sponsor me himself, so his boss was so kind to offer it.

However, just looking through the i-134 form I have a few questions:

1. Number 3: "Relationship to sponsor".. I don't know my sponsor, so i dont really have any relationship with him, what do I write and is this bad?

2. I read that the co sponsor must provide statements from his employer about salary, start date, status etc., but my co sponsor is kinda of his own employer, do he just write it to him self and signs it himself, since he is the boss in the company he is working in or is there something i have totally misunderstood here?

3. And do my fiance also have to fill out an I-134, eventhough he isnt gonna sponsor me?

4. And a last question.. About the povertylines and the household size, when looking at the poverty lines, i wonder if it will count me and my fiance also?

We will of cours live in our own apartment, but does it count the ones that he lives with that are dependant on him and then me aswell?

I know it's many questions and they are probably stupid lol, but I just want to make sure ! :D

I would really appreciate if I could get some answers :) Thanks all.

Im not 100% sure but i think that ur fiance has to submit an I-134 even if he doesnt make enough. He is the MAIN sponsor, and of course you can have 2 co sponsors. For the poverty line, for example, your fiance's boss would have to make 125% above the poverty line (with you included) so if the boss is married, that would include himself, his wife, and you, so that is 3 people totol, look and see if he makes 125% above teh poverty requirments for 3 people.

I know i didnt make enough in order to sponsor my husband alone, but i still had to send in an I-134 and i included copies of car titles as assets and past tax info to help, both my step father and my mother sponsored my husband also and included letters from employers just like i did, and i also included letters from my husband's employers here stating that he had a job awaiting his arrival in the U.S.

The boss might have som1 above him, if he does, he should get a letter from them, if not, he should probably submit proof that he has his own business like his permit or w/e, im not sure what is required, you might want to look at the instructions of the I-134, b/c i have heard of people being their own bosses and submitting that kind of stuff.

Relationship to sponsor, fiance's boss/best friend or something like that, not a big deal i dont think.

Only the petitioner fills in the I-134 ... in regards to the household/povertyline your fiance will have to count all the people that will live in the same dwelling, so he would be counting himself, you, parents, children, cousins etc anyone that lives in the house and is dependant on your him ...

#1 YOU don't write anything. The US citizen petitioner does this and sends this to you. The co-sponsor will also do an I-134.

2. He will have to show evidence of income as self employed or as an employee/owner. Since we do not know his business entity arrangement we cannot answer that. HE needs to fill out his own I-134. Again, YOU do not do this, YOU do not need to know, so to speak.

3. Your fiance IS going to sponsor you and YES he needs to fill out the I-134 also. He has a "c0" or "joint sponsor" but HE is still "the sponsor"

4. YOU don't count anyone. HE counts you and himself, provided there are no children dependent on either of you. The joint sponsor will count himself, you and any members of his family. For example, if he has a wife and two kids, his family size will be 5. And he needs to qualify at that level.
