What to do after visa is approved and entered US?

Hi,

just arrived in the US last monday from Sydney Australia, getting married on the 2nd of September, what do i do before the marriage date? do i need to process anything? and if so where!? ( getting married in Sacramento, but living in florida!) abit lost on this next procedure of the AOS. also do you think its ok for me to marry on the 2nd of september and my K1 visa says its valid to the 12th of september..? i am still gettinng married within the 90 day frame mark, just abit tight there.

you are getting married before the exp date on visa... why would that be an issue? as to the other questions, have you or fiance(e) checked out state regs? do you only need to flash the passport to get the license? after married.. relax a few days.. then start checking the guides on what needs to be gathered for AOS process. its all there and awesome help.

One thing you'll want to do once you arrive (asside from checking out the guides above for the AOS procedure) is apply for a social security number. You can do that about 2 weeks after you get here, to allow time for your name to get into the system.

You should be fine with the date you set for your marriage, if it´s within the expiration date on your visa.

In addition to your social security card, check and see what the state requirements are for a driver's license. You may be able to get a State license with your I-94 as long as there is sufficient time left on it. Most states require proof of legal presence in the US along with proof of state residency.

In Florida your drivers license will expire when your K-1 (I-94)expires, then you will have to go back again after you have proof of your AOS. We are going thru this now....

One thing i did and worked for me, i explained the reverend i would need my marriage certificate asap and please to send it right away, some people have to work long for it in order to apply for AOS, i got my certificate 4 days after the wedding

so its always good to ask!
