Hi everyone! I've been lurking here on VisaJourney for a few weeks now and I just joined today. This place is soooo great and I just wanted to say thank you to whoever set this place up.

I'm Melissa, and my fiance (OMG, still can't believe we are engaged!) is Julian. I live in Pasadena, home of the Rose Bowl :D and Julian is from a little town in Suffolk, England but now lives in London. We met when I was doing a year abroad at the Univ. of Bristol and we just clicked at a party. I didn't plan to go out there and fall in love but you know how it is... :P I had to go back to my senior year at college and Julian moved to London, and I must have visited him about 6 more times in my senior year, sometimes just for a few days. Every time it got harder to leave, so after I graduated last summer I spent 6 months with him in London and had the most GLORIOUS time! He proposed to me on Christmas... in front of his whole family! I was so surprised and I jumped up and down and nearly knocked the tree over (LOL)!

Anyway, I had to go back to sunny SoCal just after Christmas, with a rock on my finger but no love at my side and it is just so unfair we can't be together right now! But I know we have to go through all the steps and that's why I joined VisaJourney! See you around!

06/05/2009 EAD & AP approved

06/23/2009 back in the UK

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

Hi myEnglishheart. Congratulations on your engagement! My fiance had to leave Hong Kong last month as he finished his work assignment. I was so sad! He took me to nice dinner at expensive restaurant and surprised me with a big diamond ring! It is so beautiful but I can't wear it while I am working.

This website is great. I am helping my fiance with the paperwork since he is very busy with work right now, though he says he will probably hire a lawyer. Have you done your paperwork yet for the visa?

Hi there! No, we haven't filed yet because we are still getting all our papers together, but I think we will file in May. I want to get married at Christmas time so I really hope we can do that, but I keep reading you shoudn't book anything until you know you are approved... but what's the fun in that???

3.15.2014: Mailed I-130 Packet for Mom and Dad

3.21.2014: Received email notification with case # for both petitions; case forwarded to NBC for processing

3.21.2014: Check cashed

3.22.2014: Hard copy NOA1 received

4.08.2014: Both I-130 approved (notification received via email) - It only took three weeks!!!

4.11.2014: Received NOA2 approval notice in the mail.

5.01.2014: Called NVC to ask for status of paperwork. Advised they received both application on 4.28. Advised to call in 30 business days for an update.

6.02.2014: Email notification received from NVC that shows parents' NVC case number and instructions to pay AOS Fee and fill out DS 261.

6.03.2014: Paid AOS fee ($88 for both petitions)

N400:
4.26.2013: Mailed N400 Packet

5.21.2013: Biometrics

7.18.2013: Testing and Interview

9.25.2013: Oath Ceremony
