SMOKING CIGARETTES

Hubby and I both smoked for years, each a pack a day. When I got pregnant I quit cold turkey and never looked back. I refuse to be that mom whos kid smells like smoke. Sofyan still smokes, about a pack a day, and he enjoys it way to much to think about quitting right now. Plus, we drink, and when you drink, that goes hand in hand with a cig.

Neither of us smoke. I never have, and he quit when he met me. I told him if we got married he would have to smoke out in the cold and snow. :P That was the final push he needed to quit.

Neither I nor my husband smoke. While in Egypt I did notice the majority of men smoke. Of my husband's family, only his foolish 19 year old brother smokes. LOL :star:

I don't smoke and neither does Ahmed. We both hate it. His dad smokes a lot and their house always smells like smoke and I swear Ahmed is sent out once a day in Morocco to get cigarettes for his dad, or run them to the cafe for his dad. Thank GOD this had led him to dislike smoking. I don't think I could marry someone who smoked. YUCK.

No offense to those of you who smoke, but I'm sure you stink and don't even realize it!

 Exactly. There's nothing worse than smelling, let alone kissing an ashtray. I don't smoke as I'm allergic to dust, smoke, etc., etc. Hubby smokes but is supposed to be quitting. He doesn't really try though. He claims the nicotine gum makes him sick so he'll have to try some of the pills and see how that goes. I make him smoke outside no matter how hot, cold or stormy it is.

Abdou smoked when I first met him but as we were getting to know each other I told him that I could never kiss a smoker. And I didn't want to be with someone who was basically killing himself. He stopped smoking shortly there after. The first time I was scheduled to meet him in Morocco I missed my flight and came a day later. When I saw him at the airport he REEKED of smoke!!! It was the first thing I asked about after I smelled him and he told me that he was so worried about me not coming that he smoked...A lot. He hasn't smoked since then...and thank God for that! I myself am not a smoker...if you didn't get that fact already. Now when we talk about it you would wonder that he was ever a smoker at all...He talks about it messing up his teeth and the smell, about it being bad for his health. He did a complete 180 and I love him for it!

At first hubby smoked a cigarette every few days and only smoked sheesha then once I became pregnant and we were separated he stayed a nervous wreck all of the time and picked up cigarettes. He said that he is trying to quit and smoked more in Egypt than here. He smokes maybe two cigarettes a day. The man can make a pack of cigs last 1.5 weeks. Honestly, he never smokes around me, goes outside, and always brushes his teeth after he smokes and will mostly change his shirt and spray cologne. I can still smell it though until he showers.

I refuse to let my kids smell like cigarettes and laid the law down when he came. There is to be no smoking in the home or around the children. I smelled it once in the house and that was the last time it happened. He looked at me like he couldn't figure out how I knew. We have a knack for that smell when you don't smoke.

Ohio is smoke free in public and I love it. There was nothing like going to a restaurant and wanting to eat your meal not smelling cigs and the smoking section is the table right next to you.

I don't smoke in the house. I can't stand the smell of it in my clothes, hair, skin, breath...I am not sure why I can't quit but it's just not happening right now. about halfway thru a pack I will think to myself..ok, this is the last pack......then I get nervous that I'm going to want one so I give in..... I HATE smoking! The last time I quit, I started hooka'ing in the evenings and that wasn't a problem. Maybe I'll try that again......

My husband hates the smell and taste of cigs but he still does it. You know the hookah is really bad for you too. It's like smoking an entire pack I believe. I found something once on it and I was amazed. I guess you could get the tobacoless kind.

I absolutely hate the smell of smoke but I'm a smoker. I hate the way it stinks up the house. I don't smoke in the upstairs, I do it in the basement. I wish the husband would follow suit.

I AM WITH YOU!

I did such a good job of barely smoking in my tiny apartment and had made it clear for hubby not to also.

But that has gone out the window.

I dont want my place smelling like an ashtray

He keeps saying he wants to try and quit, I hope he can

It's cuz smokes are a buck a pack over here in MENAland (we're luvvin it at 38 riyals a carton). If you're gonna have a habit it should be a cheap one.
