URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING VISA APPOINTMENTS IN ANKARA

MARCH 23 TO APRIL 7, 2009

Due to the upcoming visit of the President of the United States to Turkey, all visa appointments previously scheduled for March 23 through April 7 will be cancelled. This applies to both immigrant visa applicants and non-immigrant visa applicants.

The US Embassy in Ankara and visa information service in Istanbul are attemping to contact all scheduled applicants to provide an alternative interview date.

If you have a non-immigrant (tourist, business, student, etc) interview during this time and you have not been contacted yet , please contact the visa information service at (90 212) 340-4444 for reschedule.

If you have an immigrant visa appointment please contact the US Embassy Ankara at (90 - 312) 455 5555 between 10:30 - 12:00 Monday through Thursday.

We apologize for this incovenience.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Wow... That means I can see the President when I'm in Ankara next week, but that also means that the Embassy probably won't be open for me to check on my status and fill out any paperwork beforehand. Oh well at least I still have the Bolu Oteli for my vacation.
