Hi again!

My interview is scheduled for Tuesday and I'm pooping myself.

I've checked and rechecked the list of documents to take but I just want to clarify a couple of things...

The medical results - will they be sent from the doctors to the Consulate here in Frankfurt?

Do I need to pick them up and take them myself to my interview?

I went to the doctor the Embassy said I needed to go to and did my medical yesterday - so what now?

And the DS 230 Part II - do I fill it out before my interview?

There's a part where I am instructed not to complete until the consular officer instructs me to - Question 35 - but the rest of it - can i go ahead and fill it on now?

And the I 846 - my husband is required to fill that out and I'm supposed to take it with me to the interview - right?

I'm too scared to phone or contact them myself - please can someone give me a heads up!

The embassy should have given you instructions on all this, strange that they didn't. The medical, you need to check with the embassy as each one is different. Some embassies have you bring it, others receive it by mail directly from the doctor. Your embassy should have informed you of which route they use.

Yes, fill in as much as you can on the DS-230, and take the Affidavit of Support with you to the interview.

Didn't they give you a checklist telling you what to complete and what to bring??

i was given the yellow checklist which i was to fax back to them once i had the documents.

once i received my interview date - they instructed me to view the info on the embassy web page, which i did, but it said nothing about having to bring the doc's papers with me...but i thought it might be a good idea to ask - you never know, you know :)

and the DS 230 part II - wasn't sure if i'd be allowed to fill that in there, or if i'd be expected to fill in some parts at home and fill in question #35 there...

it's all these little things i'm panicking about :) but thanks again for your help guys!

really appreciate it!

Hey,

Our interview is on Tuesday as well. What they told my husband is to pick up the medical results from the clinic right before he goes to the Embassy. I recomend you contact the clinic where you did the medical and find out whats your course of action.

Good Luck

ok contacted BOTH the clinic and the embassy - to be double sure - and as it goes - the clinic couriers the medical results to the embassy, so in that way, it's out of my hands.

does anyone know about a 1099 form?

what is it?

my husband and i have the w2's and what i assume most of the other documents we need - he's active military, but we're clueless on the 1099 forms and something called Schedule - it's here on the I-846 EZ checklist?

any ideas if we can get them from the H+R block here on post, where he did his taxes?

its got something to do with the IRS, so i'm worried this may be a time taking thing...like i need ANOTHER things to stress about!

BEST OF LUCK TO the lady who posted before me!

i'll put in a prayer for you!

There are many different kinds of 1099, usually followed by a letter (i.e. 1099-R is for retirment accounts). Not everyone gets a 1099, you would get one for example if you withdrew from a retirement account, had interest income, did contract work or were self-employed. If you had no income other than and employer who issued a W-2, then this doesn't apply to you.

Schedules: Again, many different Schedules noted by a letter "Schedule A", etc......these are itemized deductions you claim, for example Schedule A would be for itemizing mortage interest, medical expenses, etc. instead of taking the standard deduction, Schedule C (I believe) is for expenses related to either a home business or self-employed business. I don't know if these will apply to you or not, depends on whether you itemized deductions or took a standard deduction.

IF you received any 1099's or used Schedules in your taxes, whoever did your taxes should have given you copies, if they did not, then they certainly should have copies.

Also, the easiest way to avoid ALL this is to just get tax transcripts rather than providing the tax return w/ attachments. You can get it from the IRS or order it online (for a fee) and have it in a day or two here: http://www.accuverify.com/personal.html , although that may be too late for you.

Ok, going back and re-reading your last post, since your husband is active military I HIGHLY doubt he is going to have any 1099's or Schedules.

Thanks such a million again!!!!

We went to H+R Block - an American Tax Assistance Company here on post, where my husband filed taxes and the guy there said the same thing you did, so i guess i can stop freaking out now.

I'll take our bank statements - we have a joint account - to the interview and my husbands orders which show he's being transfered to Arizona, with me as his dependant, and hope that helps us too.

I hope the orders will suffice as proof of his active military status!

Thanks once again!

Regards
