i want to reschedule my interview? How?

Hi everybody!

i am in a great mess...my visajourney has actually been a roller-coaster ride! After more than year of waiting i have finally got an interview date...But on the same day as my interview has been scheduled i.e. 22nd April, i also have my final university exam, one of the papers, on the same day...it feels soooo very bad! i really have no choice now than to reschedule the appointment.

so my question is - Has anyone been through rescheduling interview? How do i do everything? Will i have to go to the VFS office or should US consulate Mumbai be contacted? i am thinking of calling the Mumbai consulate tomorrow and ask about the procedure. Again, would i be able to know instantly as to what other date is assigned... i wonder if they will be able to reschedule me for May?!

I really need some help on this one!

To reschedule interview date is very simple, just e-mail mumbai consulate at MUMBAIIV@state.gov with your current interview date and case info, then request them to reschedule your interview date to the one you want. Mumbai consulate are pretty quick in rescheduling interview date. I did mine and got respons back in 2 days with new interview date.

i would like to know as - did they actually assign you the appointment on the date of your choice? and may i know what date was assigned first and to what date did you change it to? this is just to get an idea you know!

No problem. First it was assigned to march 3rd but then I request them to reschedule my interview date from end of march to first week of april so they assigned march 30 now.
