IMHO - freedom and liberty can not guarantee that all free people will be wise. However, the lack of wisdom among a small subset of free people can not be used to justify the usurpation of their liberty.

I heard about it earlier and looked it up on the internet. It's so scary to just think about your kid going to school and never coming back, especially all those kids being so close to graduating. So sad.

What's happening: Full moon, people with mental illness, and guns.

I feel there is not enough emphasis on mental health care these days. People are losing it becoming legitimately insane and blowing up or shooting up others and it could be prevented if we paid more attention and had more knowledge of mental health.

I have to admit my eyes rolling out of my head when the ARD interviewed at least two commoners about it and both claimed that things like this only happen in America. Um, no. Sorry for your short term memory problem, but the same thing happened in Finland a few months ago, and in your own country in 2006 and in 2002. In 2002, the death toll was higher.
