Yeah that's ridiculous!! As long as you go to a registered, professional salon you have NOTHING to worry about! It's perfectly safe. I can't believe NJ did that, and it was a MAN may I add who wanted to pass the ban. What the hell does he know about waxing anyway.

maybe it was this guy?

MY EYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Or a tin cup and hat and an organ-grinder.

SHAZAAAM!

That was so past a mere snap or zing.

I've eventually settled for trimming. I have a little personal trimmer that gets it down to the 'soft stubble' stage (soft but not particularly visible) and have bravely designated my partner to be the wielder. It's his playground, anyway; why shouldn't he be the groundskeeper?

He's totally game and it ends up, um, leading to interesting things later.

Amanda, we're in America now! Don't you remember that when ONE bad thing happens it ruins it for the rest of us! Hence why kindereggs are illegal here. :P

Two women got injured during a bikini wax a few years ago and one sued.. so now they think illegalizing it is going to make everything better.

It doesn't matter to me really, I'll just drive the 10 minutes and go to Philly for a wax if need be.

It all comes down to personal responsibility. My wife and I have spoken about this many times (personal responsibility, not waxing) and it's simply amazing how many people refuse to hold themselves accountable for their actions. Naturally, when this occurs, these individuals set out to blame others and likely sue them.

Unless these women were severely injured, I fail to see why making this illegal even comes close to the realm of logic. If you're going to a professional in some line of work, it's your responsibility to check them out beforehand.

Even assuming this had been done and the women were injured badly, how is it still anyone's fault other than their own? No one told them to go somewhere to wax -- they could have done it at home. Many people do.

Making bikini waxing illegal will simply mean more people will do this sort of waxing at home (or not at all) and thereby hurt businesses that employ bikini waxing. Considering the state of the U.S. economy and overall job situation, I seriously question why anyone would want to damage business and potentially get even more people fired.

I agree, and people are just going to hurt themselves more with at home kits.

I would rather have a professional do it than to do it myself.
