Also - better to go a week after your period...the girl i go to pointed out that the week before your period you'll find any kind of irritation or pain more intense. After trying it at different times of the month, I would have to agree with her.

I just have bad visuals of the brazilian - but then I suppose it's won't be me having to see it - haha :) Gawd knows why we aren't paying these poor estheticians more - can you imagine having to do it and the possible grossness?

I agree that a good esthetician has you in and out quickly and it rgeat at strategically covering and causing the least irritation - have not tried threading, but heard it's great - especially for someone who is quite hirsuit (spe?)

I guess I will be the first to post I take it all off. I have been having it done since I got here to North Bay. (4 yearsish) use to get it done 4 years before that when I was living in Arizona but then moved to Japan for 4 years and couldnt find anywhere to get it done)

The girl I go to is very quick. I did stop when I was about 6 months or so prego and then went back when the baby was a month old or so and it was pretty painful esp since it had been a while. I also get the eyebrows done... have done the threading when I was out of town and really like it.

Interesting thread. I don't understand why people do this - I don't comprehend

I can't understand why anyone would go to a stranger, strip down and let them rip out your pubic hair

Yea I don't thread all of the time and I really should because I ALWAYS tweeze my eyebrows crooked. :P ALWAYS!

I tried using a do it yourself waxing kit, with the hot wax a few months ago and I used these eyebrow guides for assistance, needless to say I took half of one of my eyebrows off! It was so awful! I looked like an idiot for a good month!

Now I just thread maybe 3 times a year and then try my best to use the waxing strips because you can cut them to size and they're easier to use imo.

Is this discussion just about waxing? Can I say that I am super PMS'y today, just got back home from dropping my son at school... still in my pj's, crawled back into bed and downed 2 chocolate bars for breakfast already? lol!

As for waxing... I wish I could, as it is less irritating, but for waxing, you have to have a 'let it grow out' stage so they have something to wax... that's the part I can't do :( I get lazy and get rid of it all... but my fiance prefers 'something'

In the waxing world... isn't there a 'moniker' for each shape.... 'the landing strip' the 'Dorito'.... lol!

ok, back to my 'on strike day'.... I'm armed with chocolate bars, smut mags and talk shows on TV.... i'll have you know I cannot stand watching TV, or lying in bed (i go to the gym twice a day and am never home), BUT THIS FEELS SO RIGHT TODAY!!!!!

LOVE this thread! So it looks like I'm one of the only ones to go bare!! I first tried it like 5 years ago, one of my best friends does it and told me it looked and felt so good. So I was like why not! I went and really, I'm not shy to strip down. These girls do waxing all day and have seen everything, it's no biggie. You don't have to get all the hair removed with a brazilian, I just chose too. Why you ask? Well, to be frank, it's really good in the bedroom to have a smooth thang!! For many different reasons, but you get my picture, the man usually likes it because there's nothing getting in the way so to speak! And it's just so soft and smooth, I can't describe how soft it is! For like 6 weeks! And then, when it grows back it's thinner and softer hair! And if you are shy, you leave your undies on and they just pull them aside, but I just take them off. And yes, if you like they do you, ahem, rear end!

The pain factor is there - I mean yeah it hurts, but they do it SO fast you barely notice! And there's this new type of wax, instead of strip wax where they put it on and rip it off with a strip, the wax dries on you and it just comes off softly, soooo much better and not much pain!! :D well worth it to me, but I understand those who don't want to have someone else tearing wax off their privates and worry about the pain! To each his own! But I love it and can't imagine letting it all grow out now!

I never actually never strip down completely naked, I always keep my panties on and just pull them to the side. You can take it all off, some waxers prefer that but I guess I'm more confortable with her just seeing one side at a time LOL.

How much do you have to let it grow out for them to wax it??

I have heard of the dorito and the landing strip but I prefer the star myself... kidding. Could you imagine?

Like who does this woman think she is?? :P

See now that I know this I think I'd be more comfortable too!

You need about 1/2 of an inch to wax.... that's why I never waxed my legs, I can't let my leg hair grow that much!

Hmm. I am seriously considering trying this before the summer begins. If you guys can do it then I can do it! I'll just wear my superman cape and swim goggles before I go in to feel brave. :P

Ok - well I may just have to try the brazilian thing (perhaps minus the rear area? ) - I didn't want to confess, but frankly I shave it all once every other week anyway. can't stand it being sweaty - yes, I admit - I feel sweaty down there when I have more then fuzz. The hubster still doesn't care either way. I am just ####### retentive

I am also the person who dusts with cornstarch and has been known to blow dry 'down there' on cool in the summer time - starting out bone dry makes me happy.

I have nothing left to confess - phew!

Speaking of shaving, I just recently discovered the four blade razor... I was always kind of against it before, for no good reason. I just felt a razor was a razor. Then I bought the venus vibrance... WHOA! Talk about a super clean shave! I lurve it!

Sometimes I take 2 advil beforehand as well... sometimes I don't and I'm fine, so I feel like it's really just a mental thing - but mental or not, it seems to help!
