No, these have the toys in them. We used to buy them all the time in England. I can buy them here in Houston. There is a Russian food store that sells them.

Russian grocery store? I think I've seen that somewhere. Is it the one on Hillcroft or Birdwood?

I've found that you can purchase just about anything in Houston, some of which you probably never knew existed and never wanted to know, either. :P

It's called Moscow and it's on Memorial Drive. It's a small store set inside of a shopping center. You wouldn't really notice it unless you were interested in things from Russia. :-P You are right though, I think you can find anything in Houston, whether you want it or not! He he...

GOOD NEWS! I have found a place online that will send you Kinder Eggs in the U.S. (I bet they smuggle them in from Canada - LOL). They are based in New Hampshire. A bit expensive though, but if you really have to have them...

https://www.jollygrub.com/OnLineStore1/

Yay for New Hampshire! Hubby and I make trips across the border just to go get Kindereggs .... and by the way, I am eating one RIGHT NOW and I haven't choked yet.

I just want to thank everyone for the education. No, not an education about waxing, shaving or nairing (made that word up  ). My education has been about kinder eggs. Everyone keeps talking about them and I didn't know what they are, so I had to consult the trusty Wikipedia (husband is at a meeting or he could have told me). He'll die laughing when I tell him tomorrow what you were talking about and that I didn't know what they were. Ah, us poor sheltered midwestern Americans. And to think I nearly choked to death as a kid on a penny when I could have choked on something one hell of a lot more fun! :crying:

I don't see how they think anyone is going to accidentally eat the toy in the middle of the chocolate when it is inside of a hard plastic shell that 1. is too big to swallow whole and 2. is a pain in the *** to open anyway. I think whoever passed that law has never had one!

No the toys themselves are choking hazards, once you get them out of the egg. I believe someone must have choked on one in order for them to ban them. I don't really know.

I think its stupid, perhaps we should write to the President. :P

mmmmmmmmmmmm kinderegg goodness.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

They sell a lot of toys and things that are choking hazards to young children, but they are not banned. From what I've read, it's because the toy is "imbedded" in the food. Well, in my opinion, it's not really imbedded in the food because it's actually in that big hard plastic container. There is no way you could accidentally eat that container. LOL. They even have on the wrapper for 3+ anyway.

Does anyone remember those lollipops they used to sell called Rockets? They were basically a hard pointy candy in a graduated rainbow colour but they had to ban them because kids were running with them in their mouthes then falling and impaling themselves on them. :o

They were horrible anyway.

I'm posting this here because it's not really a vent and it's something towards men that only women will understand LOL. Why do guys throw EVERYTHING in the hamper that they just wore? Like a work shirt, and it's not hot out and you weren't sweaty so the shirt isn't smelly or anything. Can't it be worn at least twice before putting it in the laundry? I'll wear a shirt more than once and I don't think it's dirty. And I'm a clean freak!
