Hello all,

My wife and I are currently preparing forms I-130, I-485 (among others) and I-131 for travel. Thing is, I-131 asks for a specific date of travel. We would like to submit this form with the others (for one, to avoid additional fees), and we know we want to travel sometime (to Thailand) sometime during the latter part of the year, but why would somebody make specific travel arrangements ahead of time if they're not guaranteed advance parole to begin with?

Basically, I was hoping this date field would be flexible. Is there a way that can be changes if/when the application to travel is approved?

Thanks!

We filled in all the blanks with "to be determined". Received the advance parole with no problems.

I used 'to be determined' as well - for two AP applications. No problems - got both.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Yes, you actually get two papers. Has immigrant's photo. It is not date specific. It informs that you are allowed to enter the US, since your K1 visa can't be used again and you don't have a green card yet for entry. They don't have to let you back in if there's other reasons why you shouldn't be admitted...like if you're carrying illegal drugs, you were on their list of major overstays in the past...anything serious that would otherwise make them deny entry. So people with a shaky past with immigration are often advised not to leave because AP doesn't 100% guarantee your entry if there are other factors.
