More questions! Sorry if I am asking alot of dumb questions, but just trying to research before I actually get started with paperwork! I am wondering about the need for evidence of a bonafide marriage, obviously if we get married and the day after I apply for a CR-1, there will not be alot of other proof than a marriage certificate, the form suggests, lease, ownership, kids, we would have none of this, does anyone know what else would be approved? THANKS FOR THE HELP! :)

We sent our marriage certificate and affidavits from three people who were present at the ceremony and have known us for 3 - 10 years. I-130 was approved without any RFEs. Good luck.

Alright, thanks for the advice, just was reading over the CR-1 guide for the twentieth time, and began to wonder, how when i filed this a day after the wedding, that i was supposed to have such evidence! If they would see us a day after, I`m sure that would be all the evidence they would need! :D

As you can see by the other post USCIS isn't that strict with the initial petition submission.

That will all come into play ar the consular interview later. Start piling up evidence.

When you read it the 21st time, try to literally interpret the meaning of "in addition to the required documentation...." and see if you don't come up with "not required".

wedding info is good, letters from people at your wedding, we have kept all emails that we sent (i'm also nostalgic like that!) to each other, pictures from back in the day (if they have dates on the backs), etc. be prepared, but don't let it stress you out too much. it's quite the process! but when it's over, it's worth it :) good luck!

Hi! We got like 3 RFEs when we filed out I-130. I guess they wanted more evidence since we were such a young couple. This is what we submitted (but there might be more but I just can't remember): marriage certificate, affidavits from people who knew about our marital relationship, our life insurance policies with each other as the sole beneficiary, bank certifications stating when we opened our joint account together, car insurance, car registration, our wedding invitations. We filed DCF in manila. I guess it depends on who looks at documents cause the immigration officer didn't want any pictures for the I-130. She wanted more proof. Like she even asked us both to come into the embassy and we talked to her for awhile. But everything was worth it cause now me and my hubby are together here in Seattle. :)

You'll be there soon too. Be strong!

Good luck and God bless! :star:
