WOW...things really do move incredibly fast with the State Dept. They only had our file one day and sent it on to the US embassy in Bangkok today, 3/11/09! Wondering if they are trying to make up for USCIS sitting on it for 78 days before they sent it to NVC? Perhaps now can get it done before approval expires on 4/19/09. Sure makes for a better attitude. Thanks State Dept.

Yes, pity USCIS is not Dept of State instead of DHS.

How can you be sure it sat at USCIS? How do you know it didnt sit at NVC untill they decided to act on it? This is totaly different than what I was told & if you would explain it might help others understand in the future.

My case was MIA just like yours & for about the same time. USCIS informed me that cases are approved, a bar code is assigned as the last step of that approval. They said the cases are then put with other finished cases & sent right out to NVC. When USCIS checked to find my case they said the bar code indicated it had been sent to NVC. They said they NEVER hold cases.

NVC told me the new cases are sorted in the mail room but not scanned into the system until they can begin to process them. This makes it seem that the case is at " lost". NVC also told me they had no record of my case & like yours it took about 80 days to " find" it.

Just like yours, mine appeared at NVC & was sent on to BKK. It does tend to improve ones attitude!
