We especially want to hear about the hotel. Pat also lives in Manchester, and and we're planning on making an overnight of her interview.

Bob and Pat

We stayed at the Lincoln House http://www.lincoln-house-hotel.co.uk/helpservices.html

Their rates are negotiable so look at the specials then call them and make a deal. Also ask for the cash discount for foreign visitors. They kept our luggage all day during the interview and then while we did some sightseeing. It was clean and pleasant, but compact. Lots of teas/coffee. Refrigerator. Free wireless or computer with internet tucked under the stairs in the entry hall. (It's a house, no lobby really.) Good breakfast.

No elevator and we were at the top. Long day, bus trip, dragging luggage = :dead: But we had a nice view.

Bathroom--clean, but you could use the toilet, shave your legs in the shower and brush your teeth in the sink simultaneouly. Yeah that small.

I timed the walk to the embassy...easy pace, no hustling...20 min.

Good luck chap :D

I am trekking down on Sunday for my Monday interview! Where are you staying? I am at the Boston Court Hotel which sounds particularly grand for something that looks worryingly reminiscent of a slightly upmarket squat!

Yeah, well you are a Spurs fan, so I'm sure you're used to slumming it.......

I was actually planning on going to the Villa game, but have sold my ticket to be on the safe side.

Will have to watch it from the Ikea stand before I head off.

But yes, you're right ;) as a Spurs fan i've also found the cheapest place possible ;)

To be on the safe side? In case of what? You get arrested or something!!??

Shame you're not going - because I am!! I'm travelling down to Southampton for the QPR game on the Saturday, then catching the Villa against your lot on the Sunday. We could have hooked up for a few brewskis.

Haha, no no. Just getting from there after the game down to the big smoke and all that. Just time that I could do without losing really. Was planning on popping down to London mid morning on Sunday, getting checked in, have a walk to the embassy and then to the place for the medical so that I have a route half sorted and then watch the game at a watering hole somewhere!
