Hi

I have Query, as I became PR of Canada on 07 Nov 2008 and came back to India on 8 Dec 2008. I want to visit U.S.A.

1 I am working here in MNC in India.Can I apply for U.S visa at new Delhi high commission ? I want to spend some time with my cousins.

2 What are the chances of getting me U.S Visa ? I have traveled to U.K as well on work permit a yea ago.

3 Can U.S Consular ask me questions regarding why i came back after becoming PR in canada,if so what can i say ?

4 Can I enter into Canada from U.S ?

5 What all things i need to say or do in order to convince consular ?

6 can U.S consular ask me that i need to apply U.S visa from canada ?

3 Can U.S Consular ask me questions regarding why i came back after becoming PR in canada,if so what can i say ? Of course they can ask you, and they probably will. What can you say? Tell the truth of course, but why are you there after you became a PR in Canada anyway? What are the residency requirements of being a PR in Canada?

4 Can I enter into Canada from U.S ? If you're a PR of Canada, I don't see why not, however I guess it depends on why you want to enter Canada, how long you'll be there, and if your status there is still valid.

5 What all things i need to say or do in order to convince consular ? You've provided so little information about your situation. Firstly, whatever you do, you need to tell the TRUTH, and then have documents to support your story. Why do you want a visa to the US would be my first question.

6 can U.S consular ask me that i need to apply U.S visa from canada ? Again, they can ask you whatever they want! Why didn't you? If it's because you've moved back to India and now you want to move to the US, then you need to find out what type of visa you need to apply for and start researching! Please provide us with more information so we can better help you.

You will need to convince the consulate that you cannot possibly stay in the U.S. beyond the term of the visitor visa, if it is granted. They won't be much interested in anything else. You are still a citizen of India, not Canada. If you were residing in Canada now, you would seek your visa through the consulate in Montreal -- but you are in India.

As to crossing into Canada from the U.S., as a legal resident of Canada there should be no problem.
