Does the address on your DL have to be current?

Just out of curiosity, does the address on your DL have to be current when you are at the interview? The address on my DL and my wife DL are old ones, and we don't plan to change it unless it is necessary since we rent and move like once a year.

Yes, your address on your driver's licesne should be current, and should match the address on the forms that USCIS has.

If you've been moving once per year, have you also been notifying USCIS of your moves, with forms AR-11 and I-865? These forms are required by law, and if you don't notify USCIS thta you've moved, you could face a monetary fine and/or prison.

actually even for your city if you were stopped i believe its against the law to NOT have current address if they pushed the point

Actually, no. I move around a lot and actually carry an out of state drivers license (Indiana license, live in DC). Although for the purposes of the interview it helps to have a license with your current address, but my IO basically said that if I had other ways to prove my residency with my wife (which I did) there was no problem. I showed her my pay stubs and bank statements with that address and she deemed it sufficient. Might be different with other IO's, but that is my experience.

That is what I assumed, since almost all my friends don't update their address on DL.
