Hello I am from Philippines and married to Canadian. I just wondered why it takes so long to process my visa application. We got married in Philippines and we applied for permanent residence to Canada. When I met my husband in dating site on august 2006 and met in person first time on october 2006. I have applied a tourist visa to Canada to spend Christmas with my boyfriend who is my husband now and his daughter but my application refused. We got married September 2007 in Philippines and I have applied again tourist visa to canada for the same reason but that was also refused. So we applied spousal visa. The application to sponsor was approved and they forwarded my application to canadian embassy manila to process. It started process on January 31, 2008. But now, I still have no visa and still waiting for the results. I am so confused about this why it takes so long. Please help me to understand, it says "4 to 6 months process but why its already 1 year and 1 months, still no results. Do You think they will refuse my visa application? Is there someone who applied visa for a wife and got refused? There are some allegations to my case, to my relationship with my husband. and that the embassy sent me a letter regarding these allegations on February 4, 2009, the embassy gave us time to explain for these allegations before they will make final judgement. I wondered if like my case, do they refused my application? because until now they don't send me any letter again or call for interview, or do You think there would be an interview or no more? I have applied tourist visa twice, does it matter? thats why my application takes so long? to my case with these allegations, are they going to refuse my applcation? is there someone who applied visa for a wife and got refused? PLEASE HELP!!!!! I LOVE MY HUSBAND SO MUCH AND I WANTED TO BE WITH HIM VERRRRY SOON.

God Bless!

Carmz

If the forms are at the consulate in Manila, contact them. Processing times vary by consulate, and by which mode of application you used, inside, or outside Canada.

Also, see the forums at Road To Canada (posted above by wowswift) they're for Canadian immigration. This site here is for US immigration.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

My brother married a lovely lady from China and they purposefully got married out of Canada and petitioned for her permanent residency from outside the country. My brother explained it to me that the Gov in Canada puts priority on reuniting couples. Their PR card took 1 full year to come through. If you are in Canada and with your hubby they take a much longer time to process those applications, so the fact that you are not in Canada permanently actually is a good thing :(
