Yeah the operator seemed pissed off from the moment she said can I have your case number please..I guess they are pissed off from all the calls? who knows...I'm going to try again soon, but I'm hoping she was wrong.

Operator just told me they didnt start reviewing mine yet. Just my luck.

No way that's true... Once AVR confirms they received it, it does go to review. I think you should call back and check again. I am reluctant to believe this operator. Good luck!!!

I just did now - I couldn't hold out! She said that the package they received on the 8th was the DS-230 and it's under final review. She confirmed I don't have an RFE. It's what I suspected, but the confirmation is nice. Before they just told me that they received a package on the 8th, but did not know what it was. It is nice to know it's progressed.

She did give me the standard response: "Call back in two weeks". I said- no way mam! Tomorrow. Well I didn't. I, unlike Homer, used my inside voice :)

I've spoken to an operator about 5-6 times I think. I had one rude, abrupt one, one OK one and the rest were quite pleasant. Try again and you might get a nicer one :)

I emailed DS-3032 last April 3 and mailed the hardcopy last April 11. I finally received received an email confirmation that it has been accepted today. The DS-230 fee bill is now available to be paid. Can I go ahead and pay it? Or wait for the DS-230 bill to be emailed to me like what the instruction said?

You can pay it BUT it will take almost 2 weeks for the word PAID to be totally updated in the website and also from the operator..

I paid it once it showed I could online. Once they've accepted your DS-3230 you should be fine :)

hey ben and ash, how did you get hold of police clearance that fast in India? I am having trouble securing PCC from local district and ahmedabad passport office. I cannot submit my application because of that PCC. My case was approved 1st week of march.

If you would, please suggest how you got PCC so fast and what type of PCC you submit to NVC?

For me, they are asking for name change from maiden to married name (middle name change from my father's to my husband's ) before they can issue PCC and say it will take awhile. Please help me. It's been about a month and no submission to NVC because of PCC. Please help.

Hey Trushar, actually I'm prety sure we will get an RFE because we only got the PCC from mumbai passport office, my wife applied for the local police district one and that will come next week...so it should be here right when they ask for the RFE..we will see.... I'm praying somehow we get past NVC and only will have to show it at the interview..but highly doubt it...
