Hi Guys,

The Payment online show the checkbox for IV bill invoice as Active. However they have not sent out an email with the generated immigration visa Invoice. Does that mean I can go ahead and pay the fees?

However more important is the questions on how long does it take NVC to show this fees as PAID?

I am waiting on some documents from abroad and will take some time to reach me. Wondering if I should prolong paying the fees until I get all the documents for DS230 filing. Because if the fees is shown as PAID next day, I have no documents yet to send the DS230.

Let me know what you guys think?

Have a nice weekend everyone and enjoy your days.

you can pay the fee if you want. i paid my IV bill yesterday online without receiving the invoice and it already has a paid receipt available today. other people have had the experience that if you pay before the invoice, it can go back to saying NOT PAID for several days before finally updating again as PAID. since you are waiting on documents anyway, you can always just wait until the invoice is processed to be safe.

more info on the 2008 tax return RFE if it applies to anyone else: got the checklist by e-mail today and there was also a check by the line "you did not provide an explanation for why you were not required to file Federal tax returns for all/any of the last 3 years"

i called NVC and apparently this is checked automatically if they are still waiting for the 2008 tax return so it's not a request for additional information. also even though the letter says to send the whole form again, if that box isn't checked you just send the missing documents and the RFE letter.

champi,

you are not alone then. we also didn't include the 2008 taxes, but let's hope our case is out of review before day 15!!!! I think you will bee fine :)

qixbr,

I finally found a solution if I run into this issue and thought to share it with you. I am total dummy when it comes to taxes, never done it myself. I was stressed after reading about sattva's experience. I finally found out that if you e-file tax extension, you can get confirmation from IRS within a day. Here is the link to it:

http://www.filingtaxextension.com/efile-tax-extension.html

I had another nightmare to deal with today. Our accountant had done zippo on filing my extension. This added to my stress. First thing I am going to do tomorrow is walk into the H&R block, find out their availability/fee, etc, and then take my W2s, 1099s from my old accountant and hand them to H&R Block if they can fit me in. Not to forget, I also found out I possibly made a mistake on my I-864 that can mean an RFE. This has been an absolutely disastrous day for me. I really need a new day tomorrow with some positive news.

Good night everyone and hear from you all tomorrow!

Hi champi, I just saw your post now, thanks for sharing this. I also don't know anything about taxes, my husband did all the I-864 alone. :P But I really think you might get accepted before day 15, it seems they go a lot faster when they have both AOS and DS230 in hands.

On other news we got that "false RFE email" today, the one saying they received our AOS packet and now are waiting for the DS 230. Does that mean that they accepted the I-864 without any RFEs?

I hope so.

This is what it says:

"The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support form (I-864) for this case. However, we are still waiting for the Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). "

Also, Gixbr..did your husband find that out in AVR or through live operator? It was late at night to talk to live operator right?

Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts, but even tho my AOS was approved already, my DS-230 only got into the system today (day 10). and they have both of your case already in hand for a while now. I do think they review the two packets at the same time, and mine might get into a line all over again or something.

But I just wish all of us to get approvals as soon as possible!! :)

Ben and Ash, yes he did talk to an operator, because the AVR still says there are missing or incomplete documents for me, false RFE.

It was like 7pm when he called, Western time.

Found out this morning through AVR that "NVC has reviewed your documents and found information missing or incomplete...", unfortunately...Can an operator tell you what it is about if you call them?
