Anyone get I-130 approved 1st week of march?

Hi all, just called NVC and still too early for my packets to be scanned into system. I got the standrad 2-4 weeks response Judging from Vjers, it takes 3-5 days for the scanning to take place. 2-4 weeks, yeah right!! pfffttt....

Surprisingly, my IV bill is showing up as PAID. I only paid it yesterday, that too around 5:30pm.. It does show up on my bank account online as Pending charge.. I am not complaining at all, I've already saved the document cover sheet and will prepare both packages tonight to send off Yeyyy!!!

Just got an AVR message saying NVC has received our DS-3032...yeyy!!! Now I am happy and feeling relieved!

I am still very confused about the whole 2008 tax. I honestly don't know which way to proceed. Some people have said that Embassy may require tax returns for 2008 at interview time. For now, I am applying for extension. I have contacted US Embassy in Chennai India (where my husband will be interviewed) to see if the extension copy is enough or I have to file for tax returns before the visa. No response yet...

I asked an NVC operator about that and was told that NVC won't request 2008 taxes as long as ur case is complete by april 15th. AS for the 2008 taxes being asked for at interview, u can rest assure they will. Best to check with ur respective consulates on this. I will be filing single on their recommendation as opposed to requesting an extension. But definitely check w/ the consulate on this. Good luck!

My question is regarding Affadavit of Support. Let me give you my situation and let me know if I am okay or not.

I started my own business from July 2007 to Oct. 2008 so I had NO income at all. My 2008 tax return is 3K ONLY. However, I currently work and have 70K annual salary. But this work only started in mid-March so I only have 1 check so far to show for. I have 401K that has 29K and Bank statement of 29K.

Do I have enought show to prove AOS?? I know that people have told me that NVC and Consulate looks at previous year...and for me the 2008 was only 3K in tax returns. So this is why I'm worried.

You feedback and input is appreciated.

I believe u should call NVC and explain ur unique situation and ask if u will be needing a co-sponser. I think u will probably have to include a letter explaining what u just explained to us above. But call NVC...better to get ur answers from the source. Good luck!

Update guys: I just got off the phone with NVC and an operator confirmed receiving info from me yesterday (though she couldn't see what it was) and that our review has begun already! So exciting...Hope to have a case complete VERY soon!!

I am also officially on case waiting list now... Just sent both AOS and IV packages few minutes ago... Although, I do feel uncertain about it since I've not included any 2008 tax returns or transcripts... I plan to apply for tax extension and I hope this does not cause any issue...

I sent mine in same UPS package, but I had two separate envelopes in the package, one for AOS and one for IV. I use UPS since it is closest to my home and I have not had issue with them yet.

The lady is snotty and she told my husband that he cannot get the 2008 until June.. IS THIS TRUE? Sorry im not in America so i really dont know this stuffs.

What is exactly W2 and 1040 and 1099 and what tax documents should we need to submit? My husband has only Tax Transcript from 2006 to 2007.

Can we submit only W2 and 1040 together with pay stabs for the past 6 months and employment letter??

Thanks Champi, as it turns out it was a false alarm 2 other operators have said the review has not begun yet. I noticed most ppl are not getting their case scanned into the system till about 5-6 days after NVC receives the packets. So I am banking on Friday. Hopefully by then our packets will be visible in the NVC system and the review can begin...

Yes, this is true indeed. I did not submit my 2008 either (since I haven't file them yet) but plan to mail my completed return to hubby as consulate said he needs to present them at time of interview. To best answer ur q, I believe u need to submit your SO's completed 2008 tax return to NVC (the W2, 1040 and 1099 will all be included). Asked ur SO and he or she will know what those are. NVC will ask to see the 2008 complete return if case complete is not done by April 15th (which is the deadline to file taxes in the US). I am hoping my case complete will occur before then so I don't get an RFE for '08 taxes.

Don't speak to an operator. Use the automated system. I order 2006, 2007 and 2 for 2008 that way 2 weeks ago and got them within a week.

After you select English Press: 2, 2, [enter your SSN], 1, 1, 3.... You have to wait until each part is finished at some points. Listen to the prompts. It doesn't mention Tax Transcripts in the first set of questions, I think it says Account information or something...
