Georgia Class C DL question

Quick question that I wonder if VJ can answer for me before I phone the DMV in the morning. A GA learner's permit holder (typically 15 years old, remember) is normally required to hold their LP for at least 366 days before they can take the road test and get a Class D or C license (depending on age under/over 18).

I think this is one of Sonny Perdue's recent teen driving laws, however, so my question is this: does the 'year and a day' rule apply to a 26 year-old? I can't get a straight answer from the driver's manual - it doesn't specify any upper age limit to the rule in the relevant paragraph but at the same time, it's in the middle of the teen driving laws section... I'm none the wiser for reading it a dozen times or more.

Anyone here get a LP in Georgia and exchange it for a full Class C in less than a year?

I got my Learner's permit in February 2008 and took the road test in june 2008 and got my DL righ away.

I've just been on the phone the the DMV (sorry, DDS ) and they confirmed exactly that - despite the ambiguous wording, over 18's can get a class C from a learners permit as soon as they can pass the road test - no minimum time restrictions apply
