I am a US citizen and my mom will come to visit me sometimes next month. I am planning to apply GC for her, here's the info I gathered from USCIS website. But still have some questions that need you guys' help.

As far as I know, since she will be entering based on B1/B2 visa, I need to file I-130 and I-485 at the same time.

For I-130, needs my US passport, Or naturalization certificate, my birth certificate that has my parents name, their marriage certificate, and that's it? Do I need to provide any other documents? Like housing, tax return??

For I-485, she needs criminal history, is it from US or the country where she's from? Her birth certificate, her visa copy, photos, health exam,, form G-325, and Affidavit (does the person need to be reside in US?) Again, any other supporting documents? Please help~ Thanks a lot!!

Once again, it is illegal to enter the US on a visitor visa with the intent to immigrate. What you are describing is immigration fraud and partially the reason it is so hard to get tourist visas (because of fraud by some, everyone is assumed to intend to illegally immigrate).

Yes, you can file for your mom once she is here. However, it is immigration fraud since she has the intent to immigrate when she enters on a tourist visa.

If you are going to do it, its not very bright to advertise it on a public message board.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

So when Mom lands at her POE and is stood in front of the CBP officer and he asks her "what is the purpose of your visit?" is she going to say "I am immigrating to the US, my daughter is going to file I-130 and AOS so I can remain" if that is the case then she will be on the first flight back to where she came from. If she is going to say "I am here to visit my daughter" and the CBP officer then asks "How long do you intend on staying?" and Mom says "2 months" or whatever, then not only is she committing visa fraud but she is also lying to a immigration officer and "Misrepresentation at POE will earn her a life time ban on trying to enter the USA.

Do the right thing and file the I-130 for your Mom and she will be interviewed in her home country and will enter the US with a immigrant visa and she will never have to worry about getting caught lying to USCIS.

I agree, you could be one of the people who don't get caught, but it's still visa fraud. When you apply for B1/B2 you sign the document stating you are not planning to immigrate. I would file the documents while she is her home country and if she wants to visit (not stay) maybe she can use her B1 then (i dunno rules on that though), but she can't stay on a B1 and intend to stay.
