The interviewing officer asked my wife what I do for work. She told her. Then the officer said "I am not familiar with that work, can you describe it to me?" So she described my job to her. I would say that the 2008 tax return should be sufficient, and the pay stubs. Also already having the employer letter. I mean, you did your part. You will find work again. I look at it as that you could have lost your job anywehre in this process and then found another. You could have lost your job after the interview too, and found another. Things happen in this long wait. I think what is important is that they see you have been gainfully employed, and not a liability to the government, not getting financial assistance. Just relax and find another job. Tell your partner to answer honestly though, if asked about your current employment situation. 10% of all applicants are in this situation now, if one projects the national statistics to our isolated group of those applying for a visa. It is over 8% unemployment here now. I imagine that trend is also same in our little sampling population here.

By the way, a couple years ago I had trouble finding a job. In the current economy, health care is relatively safe. I chose to go through the short training to become a certified nurse aid. I work in a nursing home now, 16 hours a day. There is high demand in this field. In fact, wehre I work, even those who dont show up for work day after day keep their jobs, that is how desperate they are for warm bodies. My wife plans on initially becoming a CNA when she gets here, although right now she is the principal of an elementary school with a Masters degree in Education.

Why can't she just say what kind of work you do, not where you work? I never even turned in a letter from my employer, only tax returns.. She was never asked serious questions about my work, only what did I do..

I think you should not sweat it. Kris' interview lasted 8 mins.

Hi,

I am sorry to hear about this..but it will be alright.. you know,.I was laid off too a couple of months ago..but now I am on my feet again..I got 2JOBS now and my husband's interview went well,.they asked for another I-864..although I got co-sponsors so it doesn't really matter.. as long as she has everything with her on her interview..including your tax return for 2008 and w-2's it will be ok..

Don't let this get into you too much..you have to stand up..look for another job..because you know your wife is depending on you to be strong..

I know how stressful it is.. I sure wish this will be over..Good lUck..

:( i just got laid off today from my job and my fiancees interview is on april 20.

What am i going to do now?Do i need to make a new i-134?if i get a co-sponsor

will they still accept it?do you think the usem will call my work to verify if i still work there?

I dont know what to do right now.i need some advice.
