Hi Guys:

I've read alot of threats, checked many Canadian applicants time lines and I see that processing time for Canada is longer than other countries.

Is there any particular reason for that ?What happen to the strong economical connections between US&Canada and being the biggest trading partners to each other etc.....

I see people from Colombia,India,Finland,Thailand etc. getting their CR1 in 3-6 months whereas it takes minimum 9-12 months for Canadians to obtain their CR-1.Why?why?why?

Good luck to everyone!

I could be absolutely wrong, but maybe it's because there are more people immigrating from Canada and only one consulate for CR1's that also deals with a lot of other visas. Montreal gets pretty backed up!

October 2006- Met Taktyx playing the World of Warcraft

I-129F

September 26, 2007- I-129F Package sent by courier to CSC

September 28, 2007- Received at CSC

October 29, 2007- NOA1 hardcopy arrives!

February 5, 2008- NOA2!

April 23, 2008- Medical

April 22, 2008- Interview!

April 26, 2008- POE Edmonton

June 5, 2008- Legal wedding

October 11, 2008- Wedding ceremony with family

AOS

December 6, 2008- AOS package mailed

December 8, 2008- Package received

December 15, 2008- Check cashed! WOOHOO!

December 22, 2008- All 3 NOA1's received

January 5, 2009- I-485 transferred to CSC. Here's hoping for no interview!

January 14, 2009- Biometrics

February 23, 2009- EAD and AP received in the mail, dated Feb 14th.

April 23, 2009- Welcome to the United States Letter arrives. Card to follow.

That 9-12 months includes getting the I-130 approved. It also includes (for the CR1/IR1 visas) time taken to process at NVC.

For these two parts of the process I doubt there is much difference, regardless of which country you come from - for a standard application from a non 'high fraud threat' country.

The third part is getting an interview at Montreal, for the IR1/CR1 - from completion at NVC to actual interview date will be 2-3 months.

So i'm unsure what you mean when you say people, from countries other than Canada, are getting their CR1 in 3-6 months - that's just not true.

good luck for a speedy visa process.

I think it's because Canadians are a threat to U.S. national security. Just think about it -- a Canadian coming over could bring steel-toothed beavers that spit maple syrup!

Yeah and that...I didn't want to say anything about that. :hehe:
