haha. That's funny actually. My wife and I were just saying the same thing. Its almost like there aren't any more stories out there, just different environments. You can watch 15 minutes of a movie these days and know exactly how its going to turn out.

We watched the movie "Australia" last night and I think I could have directed that thing. Completely obvious.

It's not that movies are too predictable, it's that your powers of prediction are too strong.

I love you,man ! :star: No but seriously,I was watching a movie about some kid who saw a ghost of a little girl who was killed in his school and he ended up finding out who her murderer was.I knew the kid was going to be a potential victim of the killer.

So I saw a pretty good one last night- "Blindness". I don't really think predictable. It gives you a lot to think about. I think it had about two or three meanings. I'm still kind of freaked out about it.

It's because movies (and TV shows) cater to the lowest common denominator. In other words, Hollywood knows that predictability sells and while some directors like to rock the boat, most play it safe. It doesn't help when one movie or TV show becomes popular and everyone else jumps on the bandwagon, creating carbon copies.

Wife and I watched our share of movies, basically to help her with her English. While she is extremely good with the written word, proper pronunciation has been her problem as well as listening to people that either talk to fast or slur their words.

We only went to a movie theater once, no closed caption, can't pause, and our ears were ringing two days later from that surround sound, but within two months that same movie was on DVD, and within a couple of weeks, was for sale for a couple of bucks. Once it gets on HBO, they show it night after night for the next year. So why all these threats on making a copy? Couldn't help but notice the fine for copying a DVD is the same as fraudulently bringing in an alien by using marriage.

Not even sure why I have a six speaker sound surround system, all are turned off except for the center channel where the voice comes through, they love to make dropping a pin sound like an atomic bomb explosion.

Action films are just about all the same loaded with credibility gaps. Can easily loose anyone in a mall, the bad guy is always waiting around the next corner. Also not sure why I installed a premium sound system in our car, on long trips, we just talk, radio stays off.

I did bring home three DVD's yesterday, wife said, I don't want to watch these, anything better? All I could say was at least they are not movies where some guy is using a chain saw to cut off heads, our video store is loaded with those. That's entertainment? Comedy? Is some guy urinating in punch bowl at a party suppose to be funny?
