Thanks for your reply push, but i have more than 15,000 when including my spouses assets, when combining our assets we have around 60,000 dollars..as it says you can use the intending immigrants assets in the instructions for i-864.. which meets the 3 times the 125% poverty line. Would that be enough so that we dont need a co-sponsor?? Do i have to ask her to wire her money from her bank account into my account in the US so that i could use it??

Timeline

I don't have answers to your money questions, but just FYI, right now processing time for CR1 is 6 months, not 3 months. It could be longer or shorter as you will see from looking at everyone's timelines, but I wouldn't expect an approval in 3 months.

hi childress thanks for your reply, yeah i know cr-1 takes 6-9 months, i meant for the i-130 form processing only. The whole process takes about 9 months probably.. thanks for your reply, still waiting on someone to answer my money issue :)

i'm no expert on the cr-1 but i also suggest you get a co-sponsor. your i-864 will have to be approved at the nvc and even if they approve it the consulate has the power to deny the visa if their not happy with the i-864. get a co-sponsor and it will remove all worries. otherwise, you can get a job and sumbit your checkstubs for proof of income. i dont suggest your wife transferring money to your account because it may appear to the consulat as a payoff for a fraudalent marriage.

I think it would be better to have the money in a joint account and that might work. You won't know for sure until you try but it would be safer to have a joint sponsor.
