It's a good thing that he's home and with those that love him. I hope it all turns out well for him and it is just an infection that the meds can sort out.

His blood work is all normal except the red and white cell count is very low. The blood work is being sent away. He is staying overnight.

I don't look for a good outcome......

Did the vet mention AIHA as a possibility? OR perhaps simple anemia... either way I hope Jasper gets over it quickly...

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

What is AIHA?

She said the low blood count is indicative of anemia. But it's coupled with a low white count.

Hopefully he will recover fully with the meds and your worries will prove groundless. I am glad he is home - he will do better there surrounded by his family who love him.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

That's the weird thing. AIHA is autoimmune hemolyitic anemia... but the low leukocyte count I think may say otherwise. Has the vet mentioned prescribing prednisone or any other steroid therapy?

No she didn't. He has a pill called baytril. Which I can't get down him.

He's not drinking. I got him to take some rice last night.

Charles - there are pictures of him on my Facebook.
